Good things come in small packages

Bigger is not always better. Case in point, the Virago 250: a smaller, lightweight cruiser packed with big-bike amenities. In fact, it’s one of the only 250cc cruisers with the hot-blooded rumble of a genuine V-twin engine, which leaves us with one simple truth: The only thing more beautiful than the way the Virago looks is the way it works.

The Affordable, Entry-Level Cruiser
Meet the Virago 250, a feature-packed, lightweight cruiser.

The Virago 250 is a quarter-liter mount that the magazine press dubbed, affectionately, a “kick-butt little cruiser.” We have been saying that for years, and so have the multitudes of motorcyclists who’ve discovered the joy of cruising aboard one.

Everything about the 250 says big-bike features in an affordable, entry-level package. Take a look …

Strong air-cooled V-twin powerplant
Widely geared five-speed transmission
Chrome exhaust pipes
Wire-spoked wheels
Long wheelbase
Light weight
Low (27″) seat height
You can see why so many beginning riders have entrusted their learning curves to this nimble, confidence-inspiring cruiser. The Virago 250. Heavyweight styling. Lightweight packaging.

Features & Benefits

Engine:
Air-cooled, 249cc, 60° V-twin engine features a long, 66mm stroke for excellent bottom-end torque and smooth roll-on power.

Single 26mm Mikuni downdraft carburetor ensures optimal fuel/air mixing and delivery with superb throttle response.

Widely geared 5-speed transmission provides exceptionally versatile performance.

Easy, dependable electric starting.

Beautiful dual chrome exhaust pipes ensure optimal engine performance and put out a strong, V-twin rumble.

Automatic cam chain tensioner virtually eliminates maintenance and helps extend engine life.

Chassis/Suspension:
Longish, 58.7-inch wheelbase creates a long, low package with enhanced low-speed handling and maneuverability.

282mm single front disc brake with dual-piston caliper combines with rear drum brake for exceptional stopping power.

Low, 27-inch seat height, complemented by a plush, two-step saddle, inspires confidence by allowing most riders to put both feet down when stopped, in addition to creating a low center of gravity for enhanced low-speed handling.

Telescopic front fork with 5.5 inches of travel provides a nice, smooth ride.

Twin rear shocks feature 3.9 inches of travel and adjustable spring preload for extra suspension versatility when load conditions vary.

Additional Features:
Extensive chrome details accent engine and side covers for incomparable, “big bike” fit and finish.

Stylishly sculpted teardrop fuel tank features 2.5-gallon capacity for excellent cruising range.

Chrome pullback handlebars are easy to reach and great-looking.

Forward-set footpegs enhance rider comfort by creating added legroom.

Wide rear fender and front and rear wire-spoked wheels add the perfect classic, retro touch to this tremendous package.
