2020 Triumph Daytona Moto2 765 : THE ULTIMATE DAYTONA.

2020 Triumph Daytona Moto2 765.

To mark Triumph’s 2019 return to racing’s top tier as the exclusive engine supplier to the FIM Moto2™ World Championship, we are excited to introduce the Daytona Moto2™ 765 Limited Edition motorcycle.

Built around the Daytona’s world-famous championship-winning chassis, this is the ultimate edition of Triumph’s racing legend with the highest ever specification and a new Moto2™-derived triple-cylinder engine that delivers the highest ever power and torque, tailored for the road as well as track days.

The eagerly-anticipated ultimate edition of Triumph’s iconic Daytona motorcycle. New for 2019, this is the highest ever specification Daytona, retaining everything that made it so well-loved, including its championship-winning chassis, and adding a whole new dimension to performance and rider technology.

The ultimate edition of Triumph’s legendary multiple Supersport Championship-winning Daytona is here – the new Daytona Moto2™ 765 – the closest you can get to a genuine Moto2 factory ride for the road.

Incorporating everything that made the Daytona motorcycle so successful, including its precision-perfect chassis and its road and track capability, the new ultimate edition of this iconic bike now also adopts cutting-edge Moto2™ engine updates and adds higher specification equipment to deliver the most dynamic, agile and precise handling Daytona ever.

The result is the closest you can get to a genuine Moto2™ factory ride for the road.

HIGHEST-EVER SPECIFICATION
The new Daytona Moto2™ 765 comes with the highest specification ever seen on Triumph’s iconic championship-winning racer, with new top spec Brembo Stylema brakes, the new generation of track-ready Pirelli Diablo Supercorsa SP tires, and race-proven high spec Öhlins front & rear suspension. And on top of its highest ever specification and enhanced engine capacity, it’s now even lighter than the previous generation Daytona, for greater agility and feel.

PRECISION-PERFECT CHASSIS
The Daytona Moto2™ 765 shares the same precision-perfect chassis as the celebrated Daytona R, and it’s a championship-winning setup which formed the basis for Triumph’s recent Moto2™ development program, and Peter Hickman’s incredible 2019 Isle of Man TT Supersport Race 2 win. Designed for top quality road and track capability, with track-ready suspension, and a new higher specification brake and tires setup, this is the most dynamic, agile and precise handling Daytona ever produced.

RIDER-FOCUSED TECHNOLOGY
The most ride-enhancing technology ever seen on a Daytona includes new full-color TFT instruments with an official co-branded Moto2™ startup screen, five riding modes (including ‘Track’) and Triumph’s Shift-Assist quickshifter for up and down gear changes without having to engage the clutch, ride-by-wire for the first time on a Daytona, ABS, and switchable traction control.

THE RACE THAT NAMED A BIKE
Buddy Elmore lined up his 500cc Triumph motorbike in 46th position for the 1966 Daytona 200 and then, in one of the greatest racing performances ever seen, overtook the entire field to win the race. Ever since, the Daytona name is synonymous with Triumph’s most successful name in racing.

Born in Glory

One of the most famous wins in Triumph’s racing history, the 1966 Florida Daytona 200, saw Buddy Elmore spectacularly race from 46th on the grid to first place, winning the race on a prototype T100 Tiger – a dramatic victory that coined the name ‘Daytona’.

Returning to Triumph’s model line-up in the early 90s, the Daytona reinforced its legendary position as the most successful name in racing, with the triple powered 675winning at the Isle of Man TT, the British, German, French and World SuperSports championships, and back at the Daytona 200. And with this year’s Isle of Man Supersport race 2 win, piloted by Peter Hickman, the Daytona is arguably still the best middleweight sports bike in the world.

Now, celebrating Triumph’s exciting return to the top tier of racing as the exclusive engine supplier to the Moto2 World Championship, the new Daytona Moto2 765 Limited Edition represents the highest ever specification of this British racing legend, and a unique partnership with the FIM MotoGP World Championship.

2020 Triumph Daytona Moto2 765 Totalmotorcycle.com Features and Benefits

Your Moto2 factory ride

Designed by the same expert team that developed the Moto2 engine, the new Daytona Moto2 765 Limited Edition features a unique new Moto2-derived triple engine delivering Triumph’s highest ever power and torque from a production 765. With peak power of 130 PS at 12,250 rpm, and peak torque of 80 Nm at 9,750 rpm, the new engine delivers race-bred power and performance for the road. And that exciting upgrade can be felt low down and across the entire rev range, with a unique tune and the advanced ECU from the Street Triple RS.

The engine features a number of components and performance upgrades derived directly from the Moto2 engine development programme, including titanium inlet valves, stronger pistons, MotoGP-spec DLC coated gudgeon pins, new cam profiles, new intake trumpets, modified con rods, intake port, crank and barrels, and an increased compression ratio. The engine is also higher revving than the Street Triple RS engine by 600 rpm, with a red line now up at 13,250 rpm.

The new Daytona Moto2 765 Limited Edition also features a new exhaust system with a beautifully TIG-welded high-performance Moto2-inspired Arrow titanium race can, delivering that unbelievable Moto2 sound! Developed bespoke for Triumph for this new model, the new side-mounted, upswept style silencer has been optimised for performance, reliability, efficiency and lightness.

As the closest you can get to a genuine Moto2 factory ride for the road, the new Daytona Moto2 765 Limited Edition features a new gearbox with track optimised gear ratios. The first gear ratio has been directly informed by the Moto2 engine development programme.

The highest ever specification Daytona

The highest ever specification of Triumph’s championship-winning racer, the new Daytona Moto2 765 Limited Edition, will feature superbike-spec lightweight Brembo Stylema® brakes. Compact and carefully sculpted, these are Brembo’s highest performance brakes for immediate response, chosen for their durability on track and quick cooling. Other premium components from Brembo include the span and ratio-adjustable brake lever and MCS radial master cylinder.

The new Daytona also features Pirelli’s latest generation highest-performance road tyres, the Diablo Supercorsa SP tyres, optimum for road and track precision. And there’s high specification race-proven Öhlins front and rear suspension – 43mm NIX30 front forks, and TTX36 rear shocks – both fully adjustable for rebound, compression and rebound.

On top of the highest ever specification and higher capacity engine, the new Daytona Moto2 765 Limited Edition is now even lighter than the previous Daytona, for maximum agility and a dynamic race-inspired ride. This is delivered by its lighter weight main frame and swing arm, in addition to its new lightweight full carbon fibre bodywork. The new Daytona also features the lightest wheels in class – sporty five-spoke 17-inch cast aluminium alloys, for maximum agility and exceptional handling, with race-developed anti-slip high gloss black paint.

Precision-perfect chassis

The eagerly-anticipated new Daytona Moto2 765 Limited Edition shares the same precision-perfect chassis as the Moto2 engine development prototype, and the BSB championship-winning and multiple Isle of Man TT Supersports winning Daytona R. This is due to its unbeatable agility and precision, which, on top of the highest ever specification, makes this new model is the most dynamic and precise handling Daytona ever produced.

Designed for exceptional road and track capability, the new Daytona has a pure single seat set-up, reducing weight and reinforcing its sporting intent. There is also a new smoother track-optimised seat material that enables easier rider movement across the seat, and a race-inspired rear pad integrated into the rear bodywork.

The most technology ever on a Daytona

A significantly higher level of modern technology is now featured as standard on the new Daytona Moto2 765 Limited Edition, including category-leading full-colour TFT instruments with a unique new Moto2 Triumph co-branded start-up graphic and lap timer, making this the most technology ever on a Daytona. And for simple intuitive access to the instruments while riding, the new Daytona features the latest multi-function ergonomically-optimised switch cubes with five-way joystick control.

Also for the first time ever on a Daytona, riders can take advantage of five new riding modes – Rain, Road, Rider Configurable, Sport and Track – all of which adjust the throttle map, traction control settings and ABS settings to suit the riding style and road conditions, enabled via ride-by-wire.

Track ready and performance focused, the new Daytona Moto2 765 Limited Edition also features Triumph Shift Assist as standard – the up and down quickshifter for clutchless gear changes – perfect for focused riding and track enthusiasts.

Race focused poise and style

In true racing style, the new Daytona Moto2 765 Limited Edition features new lightweight full carbon fibre bodywork, consisting of a new single piece cockpit, full fairing, re-styled rear unit, front mudguard, hugger, upper chain guard and race-spec lower chain guard.

Inspired by the Union Jack style livery of the Moto2 engine development bike, the new Daytona Moto2 765 Limited Edition features official Moto2 branding and a unique paint scheme in Carbon Black, Graphite Grey and Aluminium Silver, with a unique distinctive exposed carbon fibre effect, and Aluminium Silver tank decals.

Completing its performance-focused poise and style, the main frame and swing arm have a distinctive clear anodised finish, significantly reducing weight versus traditional powder coating. This, along with the characteristic twin headlight, rear paddock stand bobbins and LED indicators, make the stylish new Daytona Moto2 765 ready for any road or track.

Rare, special and unique

With a limited run of only 765 motorcycles for the US and Canada, and 765 for Europe, Asia and the rest of the world, the new Daytona Moto2 765 Limited Edition is rare, special and truly unique – and the customer demand to date has been overwhelmingly positive. Each bike features a beautiful billet machined Moto2 branded aluminium top yoke displaying its laser etched unique limited edition number.

Race-inspired accessories

With over 35 genuine Triumph accessories available for this new model, customers can tailor their Daytona to their own personal needs, with styling, protection and security features. New accessories include contemporary scrolling LED indicators with gloss black cast aluminium bodies, plus a beautiful machined aluminium rear brake reservoir with a laser etched Triumph branded lid. Additionally riders can add engine and fork protectors, a tail tidy and TPMS.

The closest you can get to a genuine Moto2 factory ride for the road, and a truly unique motorcycle – the new Daytona Moto2 765 Limited Edition is the first ever official Moto2 Dorna Sports licenced motorcycle.
