KTM DUKE – the KTM Museum shows 30 years of style, speed and innovation
The smell of burnt rubber is in the air, the sound of the KTM 250 DUKE is etched in our memories: “My stunt performances are only possible because the DUKE has the necessary power, maneuverability and stability,” enthuses KTM stunt racer Rok Bagoros.
Rok Bagoro’s stunt show was one of the highlights at the opening ceremony of the new special exhibition “30 Years of DUKE”. With this, the KTM Motohall is paying tribute to a motorcycle that inspires a large fan base as an impetuous powerhouse with an idiosyncratic design language. The exhibition shows the KTM DUKE in all its facets: as an “exploded bike” in its individual parts, in wheelie position in the black photo box and as a living legend on the community wall.
“The DUKE tells an impressive story. It has revolutionized the motorcycle world since its introduction 30 years ago and is still a symbol of innovation and driving pleasure as well as a symbol of KTM’s motto READY TO RACE,” emphasised Eva Priewasser, Managing Director of the KTM Motohall, at the opening of the new special exhibition.
KTM DUKE: A life in the fast lane
Even during the opening weekend, on October 12th and 13th, it became clear how large the DUKE fan base is. Chief Engineer Hermann Sporn spoke to an interested audience about the DUKEvolution – that is, about the development history and technology of the DUKE. Stunt driver Rok Bagoros also gave the guests insider information and autographs during the tech talk.
The biggest crowd puller was the exhibition itself. One of the first visitors to the special exhibition was KTM board member Philipp Habsburg: “The DUKE is an icon that has continuously developed over the years to meet the increasing demands of today’s drivers. It is the symbol of KTM’s commitment to modern motorcycle construction. The new special exhibition shows this very impressively.”
“30 Years of DUKE” can be admired as a special exhibition in the rooms of the KTM Museum in Mattighofen until the end of 2025.
