2025 Honda NX400 Totalmotorcycle.com Features and Benefits
Cowling
A silhouette that embodies the adventure style
The screen, which is flush with the headlight, creates a dignified silhouette befitting an adventure model while ensuring high wind protection. Aiming to reduce the rider’s fatigue while providing a comfortable wind, it contributes to comfort in a wide range of situations, from city riding to long touring. In addition, the duct at the bottom center of the screen, the inner cowl, and the slits on the left and right sides of the headlight optimize air management, contributing to light handling.
Engine
A 399cc engine that combines ease of use with powerful driving
The engine is a 399cc water-cooled DOHC in-line twin-cylinder. Its powerful and torqueful characteristics at low and mid-range speeds make it easy to handle and provide strong acceleration in urban areas, while at high speeds it provides powerful acceleration with a smooth ride.
Clutch
For a more comfortable and smooth ride.
Assist & Slipper® Clutch *
The assist function helps reduce the load required to operate the clutch lever, while the slipper function softens the shock caused by engine braking when downshifting .
*”Assist & Slipper” is a registered trademark of F.C.C. Co., Ltd.
Torque Control System
HSTC provides peace of mind on slippery surfaces
The HSTC (Honda Selectable Torque Control) is adopted, which controls the driving force level to the rear wheel as needed to provide a sense of security on slippery road surfaces. The rider is notified of the system operation by a flashing indicator, and the system can be turned on or off with a switch in front of the speedometer.
*HSTC is not a system to eliminate slippage. It is merely a system to assist the rider in operating the accelerator. Therefore, just like vehicles that are not equipped with HSTC, it cannot handle reckless driving. When driving, please avoid sudden accelerator operation and drive safely.
Dimensions/Riding Position
Body packaging that can be enjoyed by everyone from beginners to veterans
The riding position dimensions pursue a well-balanced and easy-to-use position in a wide range of situations, from city streets to flat dirt. The upright position and high viewpoint, which are also characteristic of the NX, contribute to a comfortable ride while feeling the expanse of the landscape. In addition, by changing the side cover to a flat surface configuration, together with the deeply tapered rear end of the fuel tank and the front end of the seat, it contributes to easy knee grip and good foot placement.
Frame
A frame that ensures sufficient rigidity even when riding on flat dirt
The frame is a diamond-type steel tube that is lightweight yet has sufficient rigidity for riding on flat dirt. The framework, which makes use of moderate flexibility, flexibly responds to ever-changing road surfaces, making it easy to absorb gaps and allowing for more free line-taking.
Suspension
Suspension that contributes to stable driving at various speeds
The front suspension uses Showa (Hitachi Astemo Ltd.) SFF-BP *1 (Separate Function Front Fork Big Piston) inverted front forks with an inner tube diameter of φ41 mm, and the rear suspension uses a separate pressurized single tube type. It contributes to a stable ride at various speeds, and also pursues comfort when riding with two passengers and a load. The front brakes use double discs that contribute to a sense of security when braking, and the rear uses wave discs. It is
also equipped with ABS *2 (Anti-lock Braking System) to increase the sense of security when braking.
*1 SFF-BP is a registered trademark of Showa (Hitachi Astemo Co., Ltd.).
*2 ABS is a system that assists the rider in braking. As with vehicles that are not equipped with ABS, sufficient deceleration is required before corners, etc., and the system cannot handle unreasonable driving. When driving, please avoid sudden braking and drive safely. When the ABS is activated, the system is notified by kickback (rocking back).
Wheel
Five Y-spoke wheels contribute to light handling
The 19-inch front and 17-inch rear wheels feature a five-Y spoke design. Optimizing vertical rigidity contributes to improved road information and ride comfort. The lightweight design also reduces unsprung weight, contributing to agile handling.
Headlights
Headlights that combine long beam reach with wide light distribution
The headlights maintain the beam reach when driving in a straight line while also achieving a wide light distribution. In addition, the light distribution characteristics when the vehicle is banked have been revised, contributing to a greater sense of security when driving at night.
Tail lamp
Tail lights that contribute to visibility
The tail lamps have a line-shaped light emission design to enhance their design, and the stop lamp section has a separate tail lamp light-emitting section to contribute to visibility when lit.
Meter
5.0-inch TFT full-color LCD meter
The 5.0-inch TFT full-color LCD meter displays a wealth of information in an easy-to-read and intuitive manner. You can accurately recognize the information on the screen while concentrating on riding. The display type can be selected from three types: bar, circle, and simple, and the background color can be set to white, black, or automatic.
Honda RoadSync
Honda RoadSync enables linking with smartphones
The NX400 is equipped with Honda RoadSync , which links the NX400 and a smartphone via Bluetooth® , enabling the smartphone’s map and music apps to be operated using the handlebar switches or the rider’s voice via a Bluetooth® – connected headset.
*Please refrain from operating the smartphone while driving.
*A dedicated app must be installed to use Honda RoadSync.
*Available content varies depending on the app.
Intuitive 4-way select switch
The left handlebar is equipped with a multi-function switch that can be used to operate Honda RoadSync and change various settings. LED illumination allows smooth operation even at night.
Emergency Stop Signal
An emergency stop signal is installed, which quickly notifies following vehicles of sudden braking by rapidly flashing the hazard lights.
*The emergency stop signal is a system that quickly notifies following vehicles of sudden braking. When driving, please avoid unnecessary sudden braking and drive safely.
Other equipment
●17L fuel tank with a hinged cap for convenient refueling
●H.I.S.S. (Honda Ignition Security System) anti-theft mechanism
