The source of thrilling driving, proof that it continues to be the pinnacle of CB
The engine is a water-cooled 4-valve DOHC inline four. High-precision control by the throttle-by-wire system has realized a smooth, direct and powerful ride that resonates more with the rider’s sensibilities. The intake system has φ36mm air funnels of different lengths for the two outer cylinders and the two inner cylinders, and the exhaust system is equipped with a 4-into-1 exhaust pipe and a two-chamber muffler. These control systems and intake and exhaust systems have achieved linear torque characteristics at low and mid-range speeds that do not make you feel the weight of the majestic body, improved power at high speeds, and a ride that is characteristic of an inline 4. Furthermore, while achieving a powerful ride befitting a big naked bike, it also complies with the latest exhaust gas regulations.
Assist & Slipper® clutch for smoother operation *
Assist & Slipper is a clutch mechanism that has an assist function that contributes to reducing the operating load of the clutch lever, and a slipper function that reduces rear wheel hopping caused by sudden engine braking when downshifting.-®Crackblood *This makes it even easier to use, providing more comfortable and smoother operation. *”Assist & Slipper” is a registered trademark of F.C.C. Co., Ltd.
Exhaust system
Exhaust system that produces a deep and sensual sound
The exhaust system is equipped with a 4-into-1 exhaust system with four pipes that meet at the bottom of the engine, and a two-chamber muffler. It produces a more solid exhaust sound at low RPMs and a sensual exhaust sound typical of an inline-four engine at high RPMs.
Throttle-by-wire system
Throttle-by-wire system for enhanced driving enjoyment
The throttle opening is detected by the accelerator position sensor (APS), and the ECU controls the throttle valve using the electrical signal. This reproduces the natural operation feeling of a conventional cable-type throttle, allowing for precise throttle operation without any discomfort, and also makes it possible to install advanced equipment such as riding modes for different situations and cruise control.
Riding Modes
Three riding modes to choose from depending on the situation
“SPORT”, “STANDARD” and “RAIN”. It is equipped with three riding modes that allow you to select the driving character according to various situations, from aggressive driving on winding roads to driving in the rain when you want to prioritize safety. It is equipped with HSTC (Honda Selectable Torque Control) that can be turned ON/OFF according to the driving character in each mode, providing a driving experience that matches the riding scene.
STANDARD
Standard driving mode that combines dynamic performance and comfort
SPORT
A driving mode that emphasizes powerful acceleration with an emphasis on response.
RAIN
A driving mode that controls torque and provides gentle acceleration and deceleration characteristics.
*HSTC is not a system to eliminate slippage. It is merely a system to assist the rider in operating the accelerator. Therefore, just like vehicles that are not equipped with HSTC, it cannot handle reckless driving. When driving, please avoid sudden accelerator operation and drive safely.
Cruise control
Cruise control for quality, comfortable cruising
Equipped with cruise control that maintains a set speed under certain conditions, such as cruising on the highway. By linking with the throttle-by-wire system, it provides a smoother transition to the specified speed and a comfortable feeling that is less affected by driving conditions such as gradients.
Quickshifter
Up-down compatible quick shifter
The specially designed quick shifter is available as an original accessory, which converts shift operations into electrical signals, controls fuel injection timing, ignition timing, etc., and enables faster, more reliable and smoother up-shifts and down-shifts * without the need for throttle and clutch operation.
*Excluding when starting and stopping.
Frame
The thrill of riding a powerful vehicle to its fullest
The frame is a double cradle frame with a dual backbone. It combines flexibility with a firm sense of stability, and pursues light sports riding and stability during high-speed driving. The seat rails ensure optimal rigidity to accommodate genuine accessories such as rear carriers, top boxes, and pannier cases.
Front suspension
43mm front forks for a satisfying feel
The front fork is a φ43mm cartridge type that realizes responsive handling and appropriate damping characteristics. After plating, it is ultra-buffed, and pursues smooth operation together with a low-friction dust seal. In addition, the damping characteristics on the rebound side can be set steplessly according to the rider’s preference.
Rear suspension
Achieving both light maneuverability and a comfortable ride
The rear combines an aluminum swingarm with two suspensions. The forged aluminum end piece of the swingarm is diagonally connected to the arm body to ensure high rigidity. The shock unit with two-stage spring specifications has a damper rod diameter of φ14mm and is equipped with a damping adjuster with 15 stages on the extension side and 4 stages on the compression side. It allows you to set it according to your preference, and pursues light handling performance and a comfortable ride. Neutral handling that makes you feel the weight of the car makes it a joy to control the machine.
ABS
ABS prevents front and rear wheels from locking
The brakes are equipped with ABS (Anti-lock Brake System). Based on information from the front and rear wheel speed sensors, the self-diagnostic ECU monitors the driving condition while driving, detects tire lock caused by sudden operation or changes in road surface, and controls the tire rotation speed. In addition, the ABS modulator controls the brake fluid pressure to ensure smooth ABS operation.
*ABS is a system that assists the rider in braking. As with vehicles that are not equipped with ABS, sufficient deceleration is required before corners, etc., and the system cannot handle reckless driving. When driving, please avoid sudden braking and drive safely. When the ABS is activated, the system is notified by kickback (rocking back).
Brake
Safe and secure underfoot for your big machine
The front brake is a four-pot opposed caliper with optimized piston size. It is combined with a lightweight, large-diameter φ310mm floating type double disc to provide controllable characteristics. The rear brake is a small-diameter single disc with a diameter of φ256mm and a lightweight, compact single-piston brake caliper to ensure a balance of front and rear braking performance. The front brake lever is adjustable in six stages. A small-diameter master cylinder and rubber hose allow for precise braking. The wheels have a 10-spoke design that crosses left and right to achieve a balanced rigidity. This also contributes to reducing unsprung weight.
