A bond that spans time, celebrating Ducati’s engineering artistry and the indomitable Italian spirit that animates each of its creations.
For Ducati, the Panigale V4 Tricolore is the latest innovation of 2024. It has been an incredible year, in which the Borgo Panigale-based company has won the MotoGP Riders’ and Manufacturers’ titles for the third time in a row, coming close to absolute domination with nineteen victories out of twenty Grand Prix. Added to this are the World Manufacturers’ title in Superbike, the Riders’ title in Supersport, and the Italian title on debut with the 450 MX in Italian Motocross. There were also many national victories, including the Italian Superbike and the U.S. Superbike, which marked Ducati’s return to victory in the U.S. after 30 years. Last but not least, the historic successes in the Japanese Superbike Championship of the Panigale V4 managed by the Kagayama team.
Ducati North America CEO Jason Chinnock attended this world premiere alongside Ducati Motor Holding Vice President Global Sales Francesco Milicia and Director Strategy & Style Center Andrea Ferraresi, who said, “In Miami and at Art Basel in particular, we feel at home. Ducati is the only motorcycle brand able to combine sophisticated technology and sensual beauty, but also to break out of the typical schemes of sport liveries to create works of art, using the motorcycle as a canvas.”
The global premiere of the exclusive motorcycle was unveiled to the public with an off-site event, with the participation of partner Eataly, during Art Basel week in Miami Beach, one of the most prestigious art fairs in the world. Surrounded by special clients and Ducatisti at the event, guests came together to celebrate their passion and loyalty for the brand and 40 years of Tricolore.
“The partnership with Ducati is based on sharing the same values, DNA and goals. We both aim to bring Italian excellence to the world, inspiring people with the authentic Italian art of living,” said Tommaso Brusò, CEO of Eataly North America. “This event, in such an iconic location during Art Basel week, is the perfect opportunity to reinforce our message and to bring our communities together.“

History of the Tricolore in Ducati
Relive Ducati’s legacy through the Tricolore models: symbols of motoring excellence, Italian pride, and legendary achievements. A journey through innovation, sporting victories, and timeless icons.
The world’s first production bike to mount Brembo T-Drive finned discs
The Panigale V4 Tricolore is the first production sports bike to be equipped with Brembo T-Drive finned discs, derived from the racing discs used in WorldSBK at tracks such as Misano, Portimão, and Aragon, which are demanding on the brakes. The new discs are designed for professional riders who require greater braking power and consistently high performance when racing or during extended track sessions. They were used by the Ducati riders during the 2024 edition of the Race of Champions, which ran at the Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli.
With increased diameter (338.5 mm) and thickness (6.2 mm), these discs have an increased surface thanks to the brake belt finning, which, when combined with a thickness greater than that of traditional discs, dissipates the heat more effectively and keeps the operating temperature lower for a consistently high level of performance, reducing brake lever travel. The increased diameter ensures more braking torque, so for the same exerted force, there is greater deceleration, making for a more efficient system overall. The T layout of the pins between the braking band and bell allows for both radial and axial floating, which helps to improve braking torque transmission, contain the overall weight of the disc, and heighten the resistance to thermomechanical stresses. The new discs are paired with Hypure calipers in a titanium color, an exclusive colorway for this braking system that makes it immediately recognizable.
In brief:
Increased braking torque
Greater efficiency
Greater deceleration for the same exerted force
Increased thermal stability
Consistently high performance
Reduced brake level travel
Racing aesthetic
WorldSBK-derived discs
The new Brembo T-Drive finned discs are derived from racing discs mounted in WorldSBK and are synonymous with both the spirit of racing and the world of production-derived Ducati superbikes. By securing the 2024 WorldSBK Manufacturer’s Title, Ducati celebrated its twentieth such accolade and its third consecutive win with the Panigale V4 R.
Tested and approved in the 2024 Race of Champions
The Brembo T-Drive finned discs are the same as those that equipped the Panigale V4 S bikes during the Race of Champions at World Ducati Week 2024, the official race that sees Ducati champions from different world championships battle it out on track. The 2024 edition was won by Francesco Bagnaia, the discs contributing to his best lap of the race, completed in 1’35.431.
The History of Ducati Tricolore Models
The Italian ‘Tricolore’ is one of the most representative emblems in Ducati history, highlighting the strong bond between the Bolognese manufacturer’s standout engineering and Italian national pride. This livery, which takes up the colors of the Italian flag, has been featured on some of the most important Ducati bikes, a symbol of innovation, sporting success, and industrial relaunch.
The Origins: The 750 F1
The Tricolore first appeared on a Ducati in 1984, with the 750 F1, at a crucial time for the company. This bike marked a return to the supersport world for Ducati, thanks also to the support of Cagiva, who had acquired the company when in financial difficulty. The 750 F1 was the first to feature the race-derived trellis frame and a 750 cc engine with timing belt, inspired by the Pantah project. The F1 came to symbolize a new era, marking the end of bevel gear motors and the start of a period of innovation under the guidance of Massimo Tamburini.
The 851 Revolution
The Tricolore returned in 1988 with the 851, considered the progenitor of modern Ducati superbikes. This bike represented a generational leap with the Desmoquattro engine, an 851 cc twin-cylinder with four valves per cylinder, liquid cooling, and electronic injection. The 851 marked a new beginning, projecting Ducati to the forefront of racing and production motorcycles.
The Tricolore Returns: The 1098 S and Beyond
Almost two decades later, in 2007, the Tricolore would return to the roads with the 1098 S Tricolore. This livery has since become a symbol of special editions celebrating the start or end of an iconic model’s production run. Examples of this tradition include the Monster S4Rs (2008), the 1199 S Tricolore (2012), the 1299 Final Edition (2016), and the Panigale V4 Speciale (2018). Recently, the Tricolore reappeared on the 2023 Monster 30° Anniversario.
A Symbol of Excellence
Ducati has skilfully transformed the Tricolour into a distinctive ‘trademark’ of tradition and innovation. From the historic 750 F1 to the modern Panigale V4, the Tricolore models tell a tale of passion, resilience, and connection with Italy, celebrating the Bolognese manufacturer’s most significant moments.
The art of going beyond.
If the Panigale V4 S is the synthesis of design and technology, the Panigale V4 Tricolore goes even further. The Tricolore is the first production sports bike to be equipped with Brembo T-Drive finned discs, designed to boost the braking power and performance consistency. It also features numerous carbon fibre components, not least the new 5-double-spoke wheels that optimise riding agility, as well as a dry clutch and adjustable billet aluminium footpegs.
Tricolour livery
A tribute to the Italian flag, the livery of the Panigale V4 Tricolore flaunts an aggressive, asymmetric design that highlights the aerodynamic lines of the new generation Panigale. The chequered flag on the lower fairing further emphasises its sports vocation.
Collection-worthy details
The Panigale V4 Tricolore features a billet aluminium steering plate complete with an exclusive touch: the name and identifying number of each bike, which makes every unit unique. On ignition, the dashboard displays a customised animation complete with the bike’s name and identifying number. And the ignition key is characterised by an aluminium insert bearing the bike number. Like all collectible Ducati models, the Panigale V4 Tricolore comes with a certificate of authenticity.
Brembo T-Drive finned discs
The Panigale V4 Tricolore is the first production sports bike to be equipped with Brembo T-Drive finned discs, derived from the racing discs used in WorldSBK at tracks such as Misano, Portimão and Aragon, which are demanding on the brakes. The increased diameter ensures more braking torque, so for the same exerted force there is greater deceleration, making for a more efficient system overall. The T layout of the pins between the braking band and bell allows for both radial and axial floating, which helps to improve braking torque transmission, contain the overall weight of the disc, and heighten the resistance to thermomechanical stresses. The new discs are paired with Hypure calipers in a titanium colour, an exclusive colourway for this braking system that makes it immediately recognisable.
PRO front brake package
The new Brembo T-Drive discs are paired with Hypure calipers in a titanium colour, an exclusive shade that ensures the system is immediately recognisable. The callipers are driven by the Brembo MCS 19-21 master cylinder complete with Multiple Click System. This system allows the rider to quickly adjust the wheelbase, choosing between powerful or modular braking depending on the road and weather conditions, their level of sensitivity, and the feeling they have with the bike. The MCS pump is equipped with the Remote Adjuster that can be used to modify the distance of the brake lever. Carbon air ducts for the cooling of the calipers, developed in collaboration with Ducati Corse based on its experience in Superbike, are also available, for track use only.
New carbon fibre wheels
The Panigale V4 Tricolore is equipped with new carbon fibre five-spoke wheels, designed to maximise performance and versatility. These wheels suit a two-seater configuration and offer significant benefits with respect to forged wheels, reducing the weight by 0.950 kg and lowering the moment of inertia by 12% at the front and by 19% at the rear. As a result, the new wheels ensure greater agility in the changes of direction, limiting the effort required while riding and increasing the ability to hold the line when applying torque, improving the overall riding experience. In combination with the new T-Drive discs, they also help offset the increased weight.
Carbon fibre components
As well as carbon fibre wheels, the Panigale V4 Tricolore features a series of other components that enhance the racing look. The front and rear mudguards for example, as well as the exhaust heat shield and protectors for the swing-arm and alternator cover. An open dry clutch cover and air ducts for the cooling of the front calipers are also available, for track use only.
Dry clutch
A distinctive element of Ducati race bikes, the dry clutch ensures effective anti-hopping function even during aggressive shifting, and greater smoothness during off-throttle riding phases, such as corner entry. This clutch is compatible with Ducati Corse Performance Oil Powered by Shell Advance, for an additional boost in engine performance.
Adjustable aluminium footpegs
The adjustable billet aluminium footpegs ensure the correct ergonomics for the legs and, depending on the position, allow for optimisation of the bike’s lean angle. They use the DQS 2.0 as standard, which can be setup with a traditional or race configuration.
Built on excellence.
The Panigale V4 Tricolore is based on the new Panigale V4, the seventh-generation Ducati sports bike, a synthesis of design and technology that represents the pinnacle of Borgo Panigale engineering. This bike offers a magical combination of aerodynamic, ergonomic and electronic solutions, ensuring an unmatched riding experience. Thanks to the experience of the multi world title-winning team, it is designed to offer the rider the same thrill and riding sensations as the professionals. A proudly Italian technological legacy celebrated with this Tricolore special edition.
Ducati Panigale V4 Tricolore: a collector’s bike to celebrate Made in Italy
The Panigale V4 Tricolore, proudly designed by Drudi Performance and the Centro Stile Ducati, is based on the new Panigale V4. Its white, red, and green livery, designed asymmetrically for the first time on the bike, celebrates the colors of the Italian flag by combining them with the black and white of the checkered flag, the symbol of victory, shown on the lower part of the fairing. The number plates with the number one on the front and the sides of the fairing resemble those of the sportiest and most sophisticated Ducatis, such as the Panigale V4 R or the Multistrada Pikes Peak.
A livery that underlines the aerodynamic surfaces of the bike, with more taut lines that highlight the change in style that marked, with the Panigale V4 2025, the transition from the sixth to the seventh generation of Ducati Superbikes. The base of the Panigale V4 Tricolore is the new V4 presented last July at World Ducati Week and the leader of an important evolutionary leap thanks to an integrated approach to aerodynamics and design, a completely revised chassis, and innovative electronic solutions such as the Ducati Vehicle Observer (DVO) and the Race eCBS.
For the first time in Ducati history, a Tricolore is enriched with technical equipment that improves its performance on the track, making this bike even more unique. The Panigale V4 Tricolore is equipped with five-spoke carbon fiber rims that reduce the weight by two pounds compared to the forged ones of the Panigale V4 S, lowering the moment of inertia by 12% at the front and 19% at the rear.
The new Panigale V4 Tricolore is the first production bike in the world to be equipped with the Front Brake Pro front braking system, consisting of two finned Brembo T-Drive discs measuring 338.5 mm in diameter and 6.2 mm thick, which increase braking power and performance consistency. These discs, tested by Ducati Factory Riders in the 2024 Race of Champions, are derived from the racing discs mounted in the Superbike World Championship on the most demanding circuits and are paired with Hypure™ calipers. The calipers feature an anthracite anodizing treatment and an oversized Brembo logo. Finally, the front brake pump is an MCS 19.21 with remote brake lever position adjustment, as in MotoGP and Superbike.
A dry clutch, adjustable footpegs in solid aluminum, and a GPS module complete the special equipment of the Tricolore. Anyone who wants to use the Panigale V4 Tricolore on the track will also have access to a racing tank cap in solid aluminum, brake caliper conveyors, an open clutch cover in carbon fiber, and a kit for removing the license plate holder, all supplied as standard. The experience of riding this collector’s bike will be even more special thanks to the Alcantara seat, the racing plexiglass, and the dedicated animation of the dashboard at key-on.
Finally, like all collectible Ducatis, each Tricolore is made unique by the engraved machined aluminum steering plate with the model’s name and unit number.
The Panigale V4 Tricolore is accompanied by a certificate of authenticity and a dedicated motorcycle cover, and is delivered in a special personalized box to match the livery. The model number is also shown on the aluminum plate of the ignition key. Finally, the uniqueness of the Tricolore is reinforced by the option, reserved for owners, to complete their look with a limited-edition helmet and jacket featuring a color scheme that echoes the motorcycle’s design. Clients who purchase the motorcycle in the United States will automatically receive the accompanying helmet and jacket.
Visit the dedicated page on the Ducati.com website to view more information surrounding this special bike. All the Panigale V4 Tricolore images are also available on Ducati Media House, while the video presenting the bike is available on the Ducati YouTube channel.
