2023 Honda CRF300L ABS: READY FOR WORK AND PLAY.

Introducing the 2023 Honda CRF300L ABS…

The CRF300L platform has long been the motorcycle industry’s top-selling dual-sport model, and for 2023, it’s an option for even more riders, thanks to a new version with a shorter seat height—the CRF300LS. The LS version is equipped with ABS, while the returning normal-seat-height CRF300L is offered in standard and ABS versions; all deliver unparalleled value and reliability, providing low-cost transportation and making the adventure of dual-sport riding amazingly accessible.

DUAL SPORTS ARE DOUBLE THE FUN, AND TWICE THE ADVENTURE
The CRF300L is a dual-purpose motorcycle with a single mission: to deliver the best ride experience wherever you take it. From technical single-track, to multi-lane traffic, the lightweight frame and upright seating position give you command over your surroundings. An accessible powerband and plenty of low-end torque compliment this design for precise handling. Together with a smart set of features, you get an agile bike that excels in just about every situation. Optional anti-lock brakes (ABS) grant even more control over the unknown, while new standard handguards offer added protection against the elements. The CRF300L allows you to enjoy the best parts of riding on the street and off-road. It’s one bike, but you’ll be happier than a dog with two tails.

BE THERE. WHEREVER THERE IS
We’ve reborn the CRF300L with a lightweight chassis, slimmer bodywork and boosted power and torque from the engine. But, while the specification has improved, the brilliant dual-purpose formula stays the same. The qualities that make it so good off–road – slim proportions, peppy throttle response, agile steering and supple suspension – also make it brilliant around town. The CRF300L enlivens any weekday commute with an enjoyable, satisfying all-round performance. And, come the weekend, this is a motorcycle born to explore.

LIGHTER. MORE POWERFUL. EVEN MORE FUN.

First, let’s do the numbers.
The CRF300L is 4kg lighter, thanks to its new frame and tapered aluminium swingarm, which you’ll notice the moment you change direction, on or off-road. The larger capacity single-cylinder engine produces an extra 1.9kW power with 4Nm more torque – which you’ll feel when you tap open the throttle – and now features an Assist/Slipper Clutch. Ground clearance is increased, and the riding position is tailored for complete control, with a slim fuel tank and seat, contoured for comfort and easy ground reach. A Gear Position indicator for the dash and an aggressive new headlight design are the smart finishing touches.

READY FOR WORK AND PLAY
The CRF300L draws DNA from the incredible CRF450R and CRF450RX competition bikes.
So it starts in a great place. And, thanks to HRC and their racing programme, we’ve improved every aspect of its dual-sport performance. Ground clearance is improved by 30mm, to make bumping off kerbs (or over logs) so much easier.

Honda CRF300L Born ready
Seat height gains 5mm to 880mm, improving natural control, while the narrow fuel tank means you can move forward freely. Whether navigating rough city streets or conquering new trails – or both in a day – the CRF300L is born ready.

Honda Announces Two Beginner-Friendly 2023 Dual-Sport Motorcycles

  • All-new XR150L offers value-focused dual-sport versatility
  • New CRF300L version with shorter seat height introduced

Honda’s already-broad range of small-displacement motorcycles expands for 2023, with a pair of approachable dual-sport bikes. As a pioneer in this category, Honda continues to lead the way in fun and efficient two-wheel transportation for a wide variety of customers.

Headlining today’s announcement is the XR150L, an all-new model for customers seeking an accessible, versatile and value-focused dual-sport motorcycle, ready for everything from urban transportation to weekend adventures on mixed terrain. In addition, Honda introduced a new, low-seat version of the CRF300L—the CRF300LS—making the industry’s most popular dual-sport platform an option for even more riders. Returning dual-sport models included in the announcement are the traditional-seat-height CRF300L and the rally-inspired CRF300L Rally (both available in standard and EBS versions).

Rounding out the announcement is arguably the most approachable street-legal motorcycle, the Navi. In just its second year on the U.S. market, this affordable miniMOTO has garnered a huge following, establishing itself as the industry’s top-selling on-road motorcycle.

“At Honda, we’re committed to producing motorcycles that suit riders of all experience levels and backgrounds, and the dual-sport category is a great example of that,” said Brandon Wilson, American Honda Manager of Sports & Experiential. “The CRF300L is hugely among those looking for an affordable, reliable dual-sport machine, and the new ‘LS’ version makes the platform an option for those who prefer a shorter seat height. Expanding on that theme, the all-new XR150L is a great dual-sport machine for value-focused customers. We’re also happy to bring back the CRF300 Rally entry-level ADV bike, as well as the popular and amazingly affordable Navi miniMOTO. These models make motorcycling more accessible to new and cost-conscious riders while still offering an enjoyable ride experience for long-time enthusiasts.”

2023 Honda CRF300L ABS Totalmotorcycle.com Features and Benefits

PERFORMANCE

SINGLE-CYLINDER ENGINE
A single is the perfect choice for a bike like the CRF300L. It’s light, simple, and is quite fuel efficient.

DOUBLE-OVERHEAD-CAM CONSTRUCTION
Honda engines have always been a hallmark of superior engineering. The engine in the CRF300L is a perfect example. The double-overhead-cam construction is free-revving, super efficient, and full of low-maintenance features.

STYLING
CRF450R-INSPIRED BODYWORK
The CRF300L features bodywork design and styling based on our CRF450R motocross bikes. It’s not only good looking, but functional too, with smooth transitions between the bodywork elements, tank, and seat, making it easy to move around on the bike.

SLIM SEAT FRONT
The CRF300L’s seat is slim in the front, making it easier to move forward on the bike, or to get your feet down at stops.

MORE FOOTROOM
The relative position of the engine and footpegs in the chassis give you more footroom, a real bonus when wearing heavy off-road riding boots.

POLISHED BLACK RIMS
The black rims look great and are easy to keep clean, thanks to their polished surface.

ENGINEERING

ENGINE COUNTERBALANCER
Because it features a counterbalancer, the engine is a smooth runner. You get the narrow overall width and power advantages of a single along with the smoothness of a multi-cylinder bike.

FUEL INJECTION
Fuel injection means the CRF300L starts right up, even in cold weather. Compared to a carbureted bike, it also helps reduce emissions and enhance performance and fuel efficiency.

INTEGRATED REAR MASTER CYLINDER
We’ve integrated the rear brake’s fluid reservoir right into the master-cylinder construction. The design is clean, compact, and tucks in making it more damage resistant off-road.

LARGE SIDESTAND FOOT
We gave the CRF300L a large sidestand foot. It seems like a small detail, but you’ll appreciate it when riding off-road, or even on-road if you need to park in an asphalt lot on a hot day.

VERSATILITY

COMFORTABLE SEATING POSITION
With a long, motocross-style seat, you can move forward and back, left and right with ease, helping you navigate changing terrain in comfort.

CARGO CONVENIENCE
Special cargo hooks make it easy to secure a light load to the passenger seat with bungee cords. It’s just another one of the nice touches that help make these bikes so versatile. It also has a storage box on the left side for small items you need to keep secure.

DIGITAL INSTRUMENTATION
The CRF300L’s digital instrument cluster has large, easy-to-read numbers and indicators. You also get a speedometer, clock, twin tripmeter, a tachometer, and more.

PASSENGER READY
With its long seat and fold-up frame-mounted passenger footpegs, each CRF300L model is fully equipped to carry a passenger so you can share the fun.

HANDLING

FRONT AND REAR WHEELS
A 21-inch front and 18-inch rear wheel give you a wide selection of tire choices for everything from serious off-road trail riding to smooth on-road adventures.

DISC BRAKES
The CRF300L features front and rear hydraulic discs for excellent stopping power and brake feel, both for on- and off-road use. It’s even available with optional anti-lock brakes (ABS). An added plus: when dirt riding, you can turn off the ABS function for the rear wheel; on the street, it’s easy to switch it back on.

MORE GROUND CLEARANCE
The engine is mounted higher in the frame, which allows for a ground clearance of 11.2 inches.

INVERTED FORK
An inverted Showa® fork features large 43mm sliders. That makes it strong and helps add to the CRF300L’s excellent handling in on- and off-road conditions.

PRO-LINK REAR SUSPENSION
Thanks to our single-shock Pro-Link rear suspension, the CRF300L delivers excellent comfort, traction and handling, while also improving rider confidence.

STRONG STEEL FRAME
The sturdy steel frame is strong and designed to survive in the real world of rough pavement or off-road trails. Plus, because we’ve fine-tuned the frame’s rigidity, now you get even better feedback.

More powerful, liquid-cooled DOHC 4V single-cylinder engine
We’ve increased cubic capacity resulting in an extra 1.9kW peak power, at 20.1kW and 4Nm more peak torque, at 26.6Nm and delivery is crisp and instant. The engine also has full EURO5 compliance.

Assist/Slipper Clutch
The Assist/Slipper Clutch eases upshifts and manages rear wheel ‘hop’ under hard braking and rapid downshifts, for extra control around town in busy traffic. And it’s essential when navigating challenging off-road terrain.

Lighter chassis with improved ground clearance.
We’ve cut a total of 4kg out of the chassis thanks to a new frame design and a lightweight, tapered aluminium swingarm. A new forged aluminium bottom yoke also saves weight with improved stability. Improving off-road ability, there’s a total 285mm of ground clearance.

Slim, lightweight bodywork
For natural control off-road you need to move freely. The redesigned 7.8L fuel tank is narrower and saves weight. Matched to the re-contoured seat, it allows easy weight transfer forward to elevate front tyre grip.

Flexible suspension setup
43mm Showa USD forks feature a spring rate and damping calibrated for both road and off-road riding. The rear single-tube Showa monoshock, with 40mm diameter cylinder, operates through Pro-Link.

Floating front disc with ABS
For sensitive, powerful braking, the floating 256mm wavy disc is gripped by a two-piston caliper. Two-channel ABS allows the option to switch off the rear caliper for off-road riding.

Comprehensive digital dash
Easy-to-read information is laid out clearly and features a speedometer, rev-counter, fuel gauge and clock, and now also a gear position indicator.
