Numbness

Does anyone else have their right hand start to fall asleep on rides if they keep the same position for a while? My throttle hand was going in n out of numbess today about every 20 minutes or so. I would have to wiggle them or try and re adjust my grip. That was only helpful though. To fix it i would have to pull off totally for maybe a half min or pull over and flex it out a few times. I am worried that my position must be wrong. AH!


Anyone else suffer the same?

You need a throttle rocker.

Or...quit using a death grip.

It may not be simply a death grip on the throttle, it may be an issue with the position of your shoulder. I love my Triumph Tiger 800, but the handlebars are at the wrong height for me personally. Although some people raise the bars on this bike, I feel they need to be lowered to fit me. At the precise angle the bars cause my shoulder to be at, my fingers start to go numb. I shift around and change positions, and the finger issue goes away, but now I'm at the wrong position for some other body part - generally my back.

+1 on the throttle rocker (or cramp buster - there are lots of brands out there that all do pretty much the same thing).

Another thing that I've noticed causing hand numbness is fastening the velcro too tight on my gloves. I've got a couple pairs of gloves with a wrist fastener right at the wrist joint, on the thumb side. I've noticed that if I fasten them too tight, my fingers start to go numb.
