ABS plastic repairs
I've been hearing about using ABS pastic cement for repairing fairings and other pieces. The claim is it will hold these pieces together. I have the fender that came on my '87 Concours, it's not good for much else. I took a big crack, cleaned it with a gp cleaner, slopped a line of cement down the crack, and left it to dry overnight. When I examened the fender in the morning it was somewhat held together, but it easily tore apart. Next I took the edge of the fender and cleaned it with a muti-purpose degreaser followed by good old rubbing alcohol. I coat the cracks, lay a piece of screen across, and dap on more cement.
People say I'm stupid and apathetic. I don't know what that means, and I don't care.

Re: ABS plastic repairs
The bandit I picked up has lots of cracks in the plastic. I took my soldering iron, melted it back together, and it's holding great!

Re: ABS plastic repairs
I DO know that JB weld will work like a hot damn on a '98 Honda Superhawk - on an '85 Intercepter, not so much. It all depends on the type of ABS

Next I took the first crack, made sure I coated the edges of the crack and stuck it back together. Redrap right down the center of the crack. After a couple of hours it was stuck together. I'm pleased with the results.
