It's not just hockey. It's the Stanley Cup. It's the NHL equivalent of Olympic hockey.mogster wrote:This is hockey you are getting so excited about????

Re: Not so quiet now.
Blues - nice try at a comparison but the Brits do not really watch the Winter Olympics... in fact when the 2010 Olympics were on I was saying at work that I was going to watch the Olympics and people looked at me really confused and said, "aren't the Olympics in London in 2012?" It was as if the Winter Olympics didn't even exist...
So let's try this one... The NHL final is like the final games in the World Cup of Football, or the last game in the European Cup of football (Barcelona vs. Manchester United last weekend). It's HUGE to any hockey fan!!!
GO CANUCKS!!! (I was born in Vancouver so I'm allowed to cheer from them even though my regular team is the Calgary Flames...

*******Excuse me, but not all Brits are as insular & ignorant as Londoners!
I watch quite a bit of the Winter Olympics especially the Luge & Bob.******

********Would that be like the "World Series" Baseball Tournament held exclusively in USA?
*********
I played ice hockey at school in Edinburgh, at least 4 games a year were on frozen snow!!
