Re: Best Things You Ever Bought for Your Motorcycle Thread
One of the best things I have ever bought for one of my bikes was:
A Suzuki OEM Gel Seat for my 2007 Suzuki DL650 V-Strom:

It was a great improvement over the stock seat. Not only was it more comfortable but also gave me a little more leg room as a taller rider (It increased the seat height by 1"). You could ride all day on this and not get soar and with the Gel padding it stayed comfortably "warm" even in the winter.
Around $220 USD or $285 CDN: "Built for the demands of long hours in the saddle, the V-Strom Gel Seat has been extensively tested, designed and produced in the USA. Features a reshaped, approximately 20mm higher for the DL650 (maintains stock height for the DL1000), and more contoured design with a textured carbon look vinyl cover over a gel insert in the rider's area for superior comfort. Gel seats use standard Suzuki seat bases and hardware for a perfect fit. Stock# 99950-62186"

Best thing I ever bought for motorcycling (I'm bending the rules here
) is this:
1986 Honda XR100

I bought it for my wife in about 1992 so she could learn how to ride. This investment has paid off many times over!

One of the best things I bought was for my Valkyrie. It was a set of Rivco Air Horns...

The combination of the Jardine fender eliminator, Jardine RT One exhaust, and the Honda rear cowl cover. It really cleaned up the look of the rear end and I just love the sound of the exhaust!

Re: Best Things You Ever Bought for Your Motorcycle Thread
The Fatduc 02 manipulator for my Hypermotard is the best $80 I ever spent on a bike! It is no secret that the Italians don't know how to meter fuel and most injected Ducs surge and buck at low rpms. Ducati's "solution" is to sell their $2,000 Termis and race ECU.
The Fatduc fools the oxygent sensor into thinking the mixture is leaner than it really is thus telling the ECU to richen the mixture. I messed around with the settings until I got it pretty much right on and the surging is virtually gone.

Givi E46 top case. Sidecases get mounted or dismounted at need, but this thing lives on the bike. Don't think I've removed it for two years now. All the handiness of car trunk combined with the maximum dork factor of a scooter! But since the bike's a DL1000, while they're laughing, just crack the throttle a bit, and you won't see 'em laughing anymore...

For my 82' Yamaha Seca 650R I added Stainless steel brake lines (mix of Russle and Goodrich) and they were the 2nd best upgrade (well, the Dynojet Stage 3 jet kit and K&N pods were probally the best) you could do for the bike.
You can see them here on the front in this photo:
