OMG Martin... being a teacher you should really know a novelty helmet isn't DOT approved! I think you have been taken there by the sales guy.Kingshead wrote:I do wear one always, now that I have a DOT approved Novelty helmet that matches my bike. BWWWAAAAA HA HA HA HA HA HA
I agree with you there. In the rain or wind, a full face is great. For bugs as well, IF you keep the visor mostly closed, I've had a few run-ins with the odd bee in the cheek or head coming in the front of the helmet and exiting the bottom, luckily I've never been stung while riding.noobie wrote:I went from dirt bikes to street bikes - I've never worn anything short of a full-face...

The problem with my glasses is not their safety rating, granted that would be a problem if I actually rode shield up much (mostly just around the neighborhood). It is that I have some of these here current style glasses that despite being bifocals are barely bigger than my eyes lol. Provides hardly any wind protection! If my prescription does not change, this year I will be getting contacts again, maybe. bifocal contacts suck, and if I am doing a lot of reading due to job or something, anything but bifocals suckJohnj wrote:ANSI Z87.1 FTW
and you can get them in a prescription lens!storysunfolding wrote:The modern riding glasses are better than the aviation ones. Give those a look to
