New battery

So my battery got killed like 7 or 8 times last year so I figure im gonna buy a new one this year after fixing the problem with my bike of course (which I am pretty sure I have fixed just need to get some heat shrink to wrap the wiring). What "kind" of battery should I get or am I just better off buying the cheap brand?

Just go to Wal-Mart and get theirs.

I always go to the Electrolife Battery Xpress over on Truman Road. It's a warehouse where you pay wholesale prices plus tax unless you have a tax number. Got a 60 month battery for my truck for $50 this morning.

Using a Battery Tender regularly will help improve the lifespan of your battery.

Uhh whats that got to do with what I asked????? It got killed because of a problem on my bike not from behing charged with a battery tender (which I was using one). I couldnt tell you how old the battery was cause I bought the bike used.

I'm sorry, it was a roundabout way of saying you don't have to replace batteries every few years. You can get many years out of 'em with the proper use of a Battery Tender.

If the previous battery was run flat seven or eight times in a year, grab a new one from Wally-World like jonnythan said.

I say it because it seems the $55 batteries from the local bike store aren't reliable after 2-3 years, and the $28 Wal-Mart batteries you have to replace every 2 years are a better value.

I get my batteries at K-mart and generally get about 4-5 years out of them (which is pretty good in the desert heat). I've found that the more expensive batteries at the dealer are the same Yuasa batteries I can get at the discount store, they just cost twice as much.

ahh ok I understand now . Got the battery. First time I have bought one I actually had to fill. Filled it let it sit for about 3 hours then charged it on the trickle charger for something like 14 hours (only took 3 for the trickle charger to charge it fully at 1amp) then put the cap fully on. Now to wait till next week when we finally get into the 40's during the day and no snow/rain.
