Off-Road Touring...

Adventure and desire for freedom. Emotions which you feel as you test and experience Tre-K Amazonas. Now even more unique thanks to the new colour “military green” with titanium frame. The job made to improve the stability and the power supply has given great results allowing to conquer and satisfy the most demanding riders. Tre-K Amazonas, thanks to performance and riding pleasure, is becoming a great protagonist of the tourer sports bikes market segment.

Refined build. The damping system, fork and mono shock absorber of the Amazonas, has allowed to lower the seat height for an improved bike control and for a comfy riding even on the most uneven pavements. The seat height is now of 865 mm for a more agile vehicle through the bends and at low revs.

Low consumption and environmental respect. The in line triple is here released with optimised power supply to limit fuel cost and emissions. The maximum power is of 125 hp (92 kW) @ 9000 rpm and the torque is of 112 Nm ( 11,4 kgm) @ 5000 rpm. The compression rate is of 11,6:1 and the electronic injection system has 53 mm throttle bodies.

The decomposable frame of Tre-K Amazonas is characterised by the trestle steel front and adjoining rear aluminium alloy cast. The braking system reveals its sporting nature with the wide wave discs (320 mm upfront, 255 mm for the rear disc), with 4-piston calipers on the front and twin piston calipers at the rear. The aluminium rims have different size, 19” on the front and 17” at the rear.

Tre-K Amazonas is presented in white and yellow and is available at all Benelli Dealers. The bike boasts accessories such as: Tom Tom navigation system, frame sliders, racing filler cap in ergal, rigid and semi-rigid panniers and bike cover.

The Tre-K 1130 Amazonas is Benelli's ruggedized Tre-K to make it the perfect all rounder. With its upright riding position, excellent (3 way adjustable) wind protection, comfy seat, fully adjustable long travel suspension, wire wheels, punchy triple and fine handling chassis, the Amazonas is just at home on the freeway, dirt roads, twisty tar or urban streets. The Amazonas 1130 is powered by the rasping in-line-three-cylinder engine also used in the TnT but tuned for mid-range usability.

Arguably the most complete motorcycle from Benelli in modern times, the new frame uses steel tubes to create a twin-spar structure. The rear suspension uses the same massive triangulated tube-steel swingarm and link-actuated shock absorber originally developed for the TnT. The front end looks purposeful, with massive Marzocchi 50mm inverted forks that produce superbly precise steering.

The Benelli owner will be just as interested in the bike’s excellent fit and finish, high attention to detail and sculptured body work, as they will how well 92 kW and 112 Nm peak power & torque stacks up to the rest of the market players. But as much as anything quantifiable about the Amazonas, the intangible benefit of gloating comes with having one: You can rest reasonably assured that you’ll be the only Benelli owner for miles around.

A little blast from the past for you all this week. :)

As dual sport bikes (or adventure bikes as coined by Honda) become more and more popular, I thought I'd put up the Benelli TRE1130K Amazonas as it was introduced to us all in 2007 till 2013...

Enjoy!

Nice looking adventure bike (I'm a Honda rider, what can I say). But that said, it would be nice to see it with some luggage on it as in my experience it's not much of an adventure if you don't need a change of clothes once in a while.

I guess not enough people were interested in gloating over being the only one to own one of "the most complete motorcycle(s) from Benelli in modern times." Like the other ones are missing something? I don't know anyone who gloats over owning their bike. Not sure I would want to.

I give the bike a cool but really the guys writing the press releases need to be fired.

I know what you mean, the release's from Benelli were odd, like Hyosung or KYMCO ones, they seem to be translated into English and then not really cleaned up enough. Ah, well, at least we actually got the bike. :)

I voted: Awesome (revised rating)

Hard not to vote cool on such a rare and purposeful bike that still looks fresh today years later after designing the TRE1130K Amazonas back in 2008. If you take a look at it's size (1131cc) and weight 240 kg, it is pretty darn impressive and in fact, it is the SAME weight as the most anticipated dual sport bike arriving this year... the 2016 Honda CRF1000L Africa Twin.

And if I dive into it further

- TRE1130K includes 21L of fuel vs 18L of the CRF1000L.

- TRE1130K
RATED OUTPUT 92 kW (125 Cv) @ 9000 rpm
MAX. TORQUE 112 Nm (11.4 kgm) @ 5000 rpm
- CRF1000L
Max. Power Output 70kW/7,500rpm
Max. Torque 98Nm/6,000rpm

In light of these facts, I'll revise my rating from Cool to Awesome.

2013 Benelli TRE1130K Amazonas - Coolness Factor = 60.9%

Your Coolness Factor of the 2013 Benelli TRE1130K Amazonas is:

Awesome (3 points) 22% 22% [ 5 ]
Cool (2 points) 48% 48% [ 11 ]
Uncool (1 point) 22% 22% [ 5 ]
Fail (0 point) 9% 9% [ 2 ]

= a Coolwall Factor of 60.9%

Notes: A Dual Sport before it's time. Still looks great today and still will match any competitor adventure bike specs you throw at it. The purchase of Benelli in 2013 by a foreign company hurt their sales/image and since have pulled out of the North American market. Remember if you vote Fail in the polls, don't be shy, post why! :)

Get excited as the next TMW Cool Wall bike for 2016 is now up for voting and discussion, have fun!
