Have you seen what's become of the Silverwing?

Still, you've got a nice ride. I've been looking for a cheap CB500 or CB750 that runs (I'm not that good of a mechanic, but can tackle just about anything cosmetic)

Gummiente, the Siverwing came in several degrees of dress, and the 650 I should be picking up tomorrow is the Interstate model with full dress.

XLR8R, I don't like what the Silverwing has become. I wish they would produce more mid sized bikes like the old Silverwing. I had a 85 500 Interceptor for a couple of months, and couldn't imagine my 53 year old body riding that very far. The few new mid sized bikes that are out there are like the 500 Vulcan or the SV650, not for me. I don't want a big bike anymore, but want something that can handle hiway speeds, and be comforatable.

Lack of Mid Sized Bikes

#493 Unread post by XLR8R »

I agree whole heartedly on the lack of mid-sized bikes. I got the 883 Sportster because it was the closest to what I wanted and needed (40 year old with early diagnosed Multiple Sclerosis). A nice 'standard' bike, not too much torque, moderate weight, and little to no plastic that can cruise at highway speeds.

Let's see, currently:

87 Kawasaki Concours
79 Kawasaki KZ 750 B
79 Yamaha XS750F
74 BMW R90/6
People say I'm stupid and apathetic. I don't know what that means, and I don't care.

Could not afford to license all my bikes with new "fees" and a fee increase of about 1000% here in Colorado. (last year ownership fee portion of license tags was $3 this year it is $31, and thats on top of the license tax portion of $17 min. thanks to TAX Ritter, leave it to the Democrates)

So I put tags on the following
1935 HD VL (vintage tag)
1949 HD FLH (vintage tag)
1961 BMW R69S (collector tag, will be old enough for Vintage tag in 2011)
1973 HD FLH/LE (collector tag)
1975 BMW R90/6 (collector tag)
1981 Honda CT 110 (collector tag)
and it's twin 1982 Honda CT 110 (collector tag)
1986 Honda Aspencade (standard tag not old enough for collector till 2011)

My bike

#498 Unread post by stupidnuk »

My current motorcycle is a 2000 Suzuki VZ800 Marauder. I'm currently fixing it because someone decided to pull out in front of me and I wiped out. I'm fine and the bike has very minor damage.
