Something I didn't know about Rossi
Just got back from a showing of that "The Doctor, the Tornado, and the Kentucky Kid" movie, and they said something I certainly never would have guessed about Valentino. He is one of the 10 highest paid atheletes in the world! The boy pulls in $30,000,000/yr! I'd have figured some pro baseball/football/basketball players, maybe some European soccer players, maybe even an F1/NASCAR driver but certainly not a motorcycle racer!

Why not?VermilionX wrote:not a big rossi fan
He is intelligent, polite and most of all he is not 10/10th's up himself.
Oh, and he can ride a bike like no other which he proved by moving to Yamaha and taking them to the top. I bet he could do it with Kawa too.

I've heard he's cocky but I think that every racer has a bit of self pride to some degree, and they all want to win. I have lots of respect for him as being one of the few people who has truly "mastered" a GP bike.

Tossi has endorsed a silly ammount of things in Europe, especially Italy.
It's like he is on every second advert.
I remember Rossi being in the 125 and 250 classes. He isnt as interesting on the track thesedays as the racing I remember but he really is godlike.

You must be referring to Valentweeno Tossi, which has no relation to Rossi...Kal wrote:Tossi has endorsed a silly ammount of things in Europe, especially Italy.

I did notice that everything he wears is Italian. Dainese, AGV, etc. Guess he's just a patriot!

I especially like his Nastro Azzurro Beer commercials
P.S. I have yet to meet an Italian that ISN'T cocky to some degree. Comes w/ the genes I think.

Exactly. For an Italian who is the best in the world, he is very humble.TechTMW wrote:I especially like his Nastro Azzurro Beer commercials

That is the problem with most racers. They are rather haughty. I remember one interview of Nicky Hayden that was really nice. Instead of blaming tires or track or whatever, he simply blamed himself for finishing third. He said his bike and tires and team were great, but he just didn't get it done that day, and he apologized to them for it.
But most racers, regardless of nationality, tend to be cocky.
