Re: THIS WEEK: 2018 Indian Roadmaster Elite - VOTE TODAY
From a complete departure from last week's $3300 CCW model, I bring you the brand new 2018 Indian Roadmaster Elite brings ultra touring to the next step.
Many commented on the $3300 CCW lack of quality. But at x11 the cost; is the quality of the new 2018 Indian Roadmaster Elite worth it?
Questions, questions...

Can not say it is uncool, I voted cool.Very pretty. Would rather have a pickup for 37k. If you have the money to spare it is a very nice bike. For me there are lots of super capable nice bikes for a lot less.

Another Lazy Boy Recliner on wheels....way over priced, way too big, way too heavy, way too boring, but nice looking......so can't give it a cool or an uncool......going with our none existent "Meh" option.
There are a lot more cheaper option outs there which can pretty much give you most or all the options this bike has with more flexablity and capacity, especially in the sport touring segment.

Always ask why.

Yeah...
At some point you gotta ask, why?
Is this really different enough from, say, a Can-Am Spyder RT, to justify the $27k difference in price? If you're really willing to spend that much in order to stay on two wheels rather than a (insert any comment ceemes has made about the Spyder RT's parentage here, ) then I think you're flirting dangerously close to that "poser" moniker we've debated before.
But, I guess a fool and his money are soon parted. If you wanna spend this much for the street cred, you're welcome to it. But I'm still gonna laugh behind my hand while I pass you on the left. You probably wont notice over the Steeley Dan blaring on the 300 watt sound system though...

For a while I was at a loss for words, but that was only because I had to clean-up my computer after looking at this thing and coffee immediately shooting out my nose.
I like the idea of buying 11 other rides instead of this one. That way you could at least rent them out and make a decent income. Price for this ride is totally prohibitive.
As for looks... I'll defer back to my previous comments about looking like the O-ring end of an elephant going down the road.
Agree fully with all that it is simply a recliner on wheels:

I'm certain there's a market for this machine, just glad I'm not part of it.

Ok, let's see here... V-Twin type touring bike, check. Disparaging comments by the usual suspects, check. Yep, looks like another normal week in store for the TMW Cool Wall.
This one gets a "cool" vote from me, but with a few negative points built in. While I do like the styling, I still can't get my head past those boxy, bulky looking lower fairings. And while I do appreciate the list of technical goodies that are standard, I don't like the fact that there are few, if any, options available to personalise one to individual taste, including a lack of colour options. And yes, that MSRP is a bit on the high side with all the fancy remote gadgets and gold leaf badging. The cost of exclusivity, perhaps?

If you've got one of these things, more power to you! Different strokes and all that. But I have to admit, I do wonder what is the point at which a motorcycle gets so big as to be pointless. If you want touch screens, that much wind protection, infotainment, premium audio, armrests, lots of luggage, and heated whatever, wouldn't it be more comfortable (and in this case, cheaper) to buy a car?

You are aware that all those gadgets and more are available on BMW touring bikes as well, right?Grey Thumper wrote: ↑Sun Jul 30, 2017 3:39 pm If you've got one of these things, more power to you!
