Re: THIS WEEK: 1971 Kawasaki Mach III - VOTE NOW
You might say to yourself... "What do I want for dinner tonight"? But really what you should be asking is "What is a 1971 motorcycle doing up on the Cool Wall this week?"
Well, it's my B-Day this week (May 15th) and I was born in 1971. Thus, I thought, what the hell not, I'll put up a 1971 motorcycle, it is MY site after all...lol
We have never had such an old model up on the Cool Wall before, what do you think of it? Do you think manufacturers should offer these old (modernized) models again? Have times moved on too much? Would you want to own a classic?
Mike
P.S. Use the bloody smiles more please.

Re: THIS WEEK: 1971 Kawasaki Mach III - VOTE NOW
If it's a 500 it was the bomb in 1971. What's amazing is how much room is left in the frame compared to todays bikes. And it's a triple. Have an awesome birthday Mike.

Re: THIS WEEK: 1971 Kawasaki Mach III - VOTE NOW
A perfect reminder of the technologies that motorcycles have grown from, causing the mind to think about the future and where we will end up. Almost a "Birthday" analogy... with a serious stretch. Perfect place to insert that "Jedi Speeder Bike Chase Scene":

Hope you have a fantastic birthday. Great job on the blog, always fun and interesting.

Total Motorcycle's Take-a-way: The 1971 Kawasaki Mach III blasts off like a rocket to the top of the Cool Wall! Manufacturers take note: Retro cool is still in. We need more retro's! There is something attractive about simplicity of design/form/function. Back in 1971, bikes were more simple, easy to work on, but they didn't handle that well and the Mach III was probably too fast for it's own good vs today's bikes... but it is amazing how far we have come in 46 years.
Riding modes, ABS, Traction Control, FI, disc brakes, advanced metals, LED lighting, even electric starters we take for granted today. It will be something to see what the 2063 Kawasaki will offer! AI technology? Solar Powered? No exhaust? Plastic composite frame? Will motorcycles be the last vehicles on the road to be manually driven?
Mike
Get excited as the next TMW Cool Wall bike for 2017 is now up for voting and discussion, have fun!
