I'm glad they went back to the more classic looks of the first generation SV650. The second gen had that angular aluminum frame, then they followed it up with the Gladius and its weird tank and pipe. This new SV650 looks fantastic, a classic do-it-all UJM with a (hopefully) great 90 degree V Twin.
Also, doesn't every bike in this size and price class use a chain drive?

Seriously! This is a lightweight naked sport bike. The 650 twin is punchy but not super powered. Chain is the lightest final drive system with the best efficiency (least parasitic power loss). I would never buy a bike like this unless it had chain drive. And modern chains require so little maintenance that there's nothing to complain about. How could I not vote Awesome?
A return of a classic, Redo v3.0. The SV engine was/is one of the best middle-weight engines Suzuki has ever designed. The original Suzuki SV650 engine was actually designed by a 3rd party company (sorry, I can't remember the name off the top of my head, but I think it was Hyosung or Hyosung purchased the rights to the engine afterwards), regardless of what it is, it is a fabulous engine!
I never owned the SV650 or the SV650S, but I did own a version of the SV650 engine in a V-Strom 650 and this engine is primarily responsible for bringing the world of "sports torque" to me. It's one of the reasons I own a V7 Guzzi today.
