Re: Me and my Passion (aka the Houston commuter's blog)
Well hello there! Wow, you know you suck when your blog ends up on page 2 of the forums... To be honest, I haven't ridden in about a month since this past week I've been battling a cold, the two weeks before I was on vacation, and the week and a half before that I was dealing with tendonitis in my foot. Yeah I know... whine, whine, whine... Unfortunately my tendonitis is back so I have to see the Dr. again tomorrow to see what the next steps are. I can't go on forever without riding!!!
The vacation was AWESOME, which I'm sure most of you read about in Mike's blog. The first week off was Thanksgiving week and we did "staycation" and took care of things around the house, including painting our formal living room. The second week off we were on a Carribbean cruise! We stopped in Montego Bay (Jamaica), Grand Cayman and Cozumel (Mexico). We really enjoyed Jamaica because we spent time with locals, which is always a pleasure for us. And in Grand Cayman we went to Hell and Timbuktu in one day - seriously! And if anyone ever asks, Timbuktu is indeed closer than Hell.

Re: Me and my Passion (aka the Houston commuter's blog)
I still haven't been commuting by bike this week because I'm at the tail end of my cold and it's gotten cold outside too. My tendonitis is back in my foot but the doctor has me on an anti-inflammatory, which worked well last month when the problem first reared its head. Unfortunately I think it was wearing high heels at work once after returning that brought on the tendonitis again, and if that's the case then I might not be able to wear heels at work anymore! (And given that I have a shoe rack in my office with a variety of heels on it, you can imagine this is a bit traumatic for me! LOL)
Mike & I did go for a ride last weekend and guess what? I locked my rear wheel for the FIRST TIME EVER! Mike was leading and decided to stop for a yellow light and I locked up. It was kind of freaky but all I can say is thank goodness I remembered to just stay on the brakes until stopping! Other than that, all was good and we got our pic of the "Falling Rock" sign.

Re: Me and my Passion (aka the Houston commuter's blog)
Here is wishing you better my dear.
I am sure you will be back in the saddle in no time on longer rides!
Yes, sorry about making you stop so quickly behind me (good thing you do leave following room!). I just felt that I couldn't safely make it through the light and didn't feel it would have been safe to have followed me through either. I did hear your wheel chirp behind me but I know you have been riding for many years now and you were fine. But never-the-less...
It was really great getting out and riding with you as always, even though you make me lead and I get lost..haha.

Isn't he just the best? (and by "he" I mean Mike... but sapaul we love you too! )
Next week I should be back on my bike to commute for my two days of work, so long as my foot isn't acting up. Maybe then I will have some commuter stories for y'all!
So what's up people? Anybody just up for a chat?

HI MOGS
where ya been ????
Sunshine, there is nothing that can hold a relationship together better than a woman who washes a man's bike.
"did I just say that or just thinking out loud"
