Let’s understand the difference between open face and full face helmet, both helmets are safe the full face helmets are sturdy, and it covers the entire head and chin area and the Open face helmets are just as safe as full face but are much lighter. In the market there are many premium best quality brand-new motorcycle helmets are available so can check as per your need.

You are, of course, entitled to your own opinion.

I like eating too much to chance loosing my chin and teeth.
And bugs taste terrible.
;-)
I'll stay with full face helmets myself.

Literally more than a decade since people responded to this thread. That's awesome.

Have there been any updates to the Dietmar Otte study showing where approximately 50% of impacts happen where only a full face helmet show coverage?

I had so much fun reading the insights on this thread. I have both full and open helmets.
