Colorado is burning...

#1 Unread post by Wrider »

Not sure if any of you guys have heard, but Colorado has 10 active wildfires right now. Our whole state is burning like you wouldn't believe.

Right now the city of Colorado Springs is being hit by the Waldo Canyon fire. My aunt and uncle's house was one of the first casualties as it hit city limits. My other aunt and uncle are at risk, as are my grandparents.

I don't know what you all do/believe in, but whether it's pray, do a rain dance, talk to Mother Earth, or cut yourself to invite spirits in, please do it and help us stop this fire. Our state will never be the same.

Wow! No I haven't heard this news yet, that's quite shocking!

Sorry to hear that your aunt and uncle's house was one of the first casualties and other family members are at risk; hopefully they are fine. Like you, I'll hope and pray for rain to come soon.

Thanks guys. You know how when you're driving along and you can see the snow starting to fall in your headlights? Surreal experience when you're sweating your butt off on a motorcycle in June...

Sorry to hear that mate, here in BC we have the opposite situation, torrential rains bringing floods and mudslides. I would gladly send some of our excess rain over your way if I could.
Always ask why.

Strongs Mate, sending thoughts your way.
I spent my therapy money an a K1200S
The therapy worked, I got a GS now
A touch of insanity crept back in the shape of an R1200R

GOOD NEWS! My uncle's house is still somehow standing. Both of the houses on either side, however, are burnt to the ground, and his garage is apparently scorched pretty good. But it's still standing!

Good news for you uncle, sad news for his neighbours. I am always awe struck when looking at photo of disasters, entire neighbourhoods wiped out be it from fires, floods, hurricanes, tornado's or earthquakes, but there always seems to be one house left standing amongst the devastation that is almost completely untouched. Weird.
Always ask why.
