I have been listening to the Fire/EMS scanner all night long. It was pretty quiet up til about 3 AM when the winds started kicking up embers and spot fires. A lot of the houses that already burned are burning again due to these winds, and I heard at least one house that survived the initial onslaught was burning as the winds moved embers around.

Ryan;

We've only had smoke one day. Two nights ago could see fire reflection on clouds to the North. With US24 closed, US50 is like Denver's rush hour. Last Sunday even Phantom Canyon had a lot of traffic.

Hope your family are safe Ryan

Monsoons just started down here, and I don't know if they ever end up in your neck of the woods.

Hang in there. My mountains were burning this time last year and it was pretty scary watching the flames get closer every night and watching the evac lines creep closer to our neighborhood. The community pulled together in the most amazing ways, too.

In case anyone is interested, here is the PDF map of the affected area in the Springs. Green means no visible damage, yellow means visible damage, and blue means total loss. Pretty amazing to me that they were able to save so many homes.
