Very well said! I haven't been privy to this kind of activity, but if this is what's happening then that's great. My comments were on the basis that very few people are walking around with poppies here and those who are seem to be the older population. Poppy sellers sit around with no action. I was saying this year that the poppy organisation should do some form of advertising campaign to spread the word about why poppies are important. Just my two cents...

Great turnout at the Cathedral. I am very happy to report that about half were under 30 & there was a large group of college students.

+1 what ceemes said......and +1 for TMW's picture. Sometimes the worst injuries are not visible.

The service at the Cathedral was short, just prayers. I would love to have attended a full service, not really for the religion but the majesty of the building must have wonderful accoustics.

It was quite atmospheric to be inside when the bells chimed 11.

I took the opportunity to walk around (will post more onMogs Blog) & feel this pic is the most fitting for today.

These hang in St James Chapel within the Cathedral. It was rebuilt after German bombing in 1942. Exeter suffered extensively in WWII as German bombers made there way along the south coast of England.
