HAPPY SAMHAIN!! (or "Halloween" as some would call
Happy Samhain to all!! It's my favorite time of the year. I'll be in costume with my kids for their annual Halloween Parade through the village with their school. And then tonight is Beggar's Night in our town - loads of fun (and sugar!!).
Cheers,
Loonette

Happy Halloween.
We had a huge spectacle that is trick or treating here in base. Basically, Japanese kids/families get bussed onto base then it's like a free for all zoo. Of course, we warmly welcomed them into the world of obesity and diabetes by handing out the sweets from 15 bag supply.
Unreal. Our party host said it was cheaper to supply food and drink for the guests than to buy candy

I've only ever heard it called Beggar's Night in this town. I'm not sure why. Maybe since we're an old hippie town they don't want to at all encourage the "trick" part of the night. LOL. All I know is... our town is super cool, and since people in the surrounding communities know this, we get a lot of out-of-towners here for trick-or-treating. It's insane!! I usually recognize about 1/4 from our own community - the rest come from who-knows-where. We go through huge amounts of candy (although this year I infused pretzels into the mix!).storysunfolding wrote:IS that an Ohio way of saying trick or treating?Loonette wrote:hen tonight is Beggar's Night in our town
