Did you listen to this guy. He was freaking out. I personally think the mistake was to not get him out of site and subdue him properly, without all the witnesses. There is no call for his tone, and he sounded like he was about go on some big rant. If he would have simply behaved and acted like an adult he might have been able to finish his point.

Free speech. Bah. There is not such thing really. You have to operate within the context of your situation, and within the socially accepted protocals. Otherwise you give that up. They suspended two of those cops. They were just trying to control this loopy guy.

He wasn't just freaking out. As soon as he mentioned the book, Kerry got trite and argumentative. As soon as the guy started to discredit Kerry he was accosted and forced to stop speaking. THEN he started freaking out.

I agree, you SHOULD operate within social parameters. You should control yourself and your manner of acting. But this guy did nothing wrong other than attempt to inform a bunch of brainwashed people that what was on the stage was not all that it appeared to be.

The dude was clearly not calm. I do think if he would have made a solid, well-delivered proposal he would have been allowed to finish.

They don't make one take public speaking in high school and/or college for no reason. If you go around sounding like a raving loon, you lose credibility.

Totally disagree. The kid wouldn't shut the hell up. I would bet if he asked a question and let Kerry speak, then he could have rebut or continued another question based on Kerry's answer. But the kid wouldn't give him that opportunity.

Freedom of speech doesn't allow a person to berate irrationally in a controlled environment. There are still rules to follow within public sectors. Freedom of speech would allow him to say what he wanted, but his overall demeanor was inappropriate. It had nothing to do with freedom of speech. He went off the handle and didn't act like a mature adult. Keep in mind, I don't like Kerry. Therefore, this isn't a bias opinion. It's all about being fair.

The kid's obviously unstable. And the cops had every right to tazer his "O Ring", he was resisting. You ignore a police officer, and refuse to follow their words, you're breaking the law. Though they could have maced him. That would have been equally as funny, as long as he started flailing going "OH GOD, MY EYES, THEY BURRRNNN!!!!11!!!!!11one".

Give me a f'in break.

The guy was 100% doing it for the attention, no question about it. He was shouting over Kerry, ignored the officers who told him to give up the microphone, and was being rather politely escorted out of the room when he broke free and tried to sprint directly at the stage.

His reaction to the Tasering is Oscar-worthy.

Did you know that on the day the last Harry Potter book was released, he stood on a street corner with a big "HARRY DIES" sign? Did you know that he literally pushed away another student in order to take the microphone? Did you know that he was wildly ranting at Kerry, asking question after question, shouting over Kerry and not allowing him to answer, for almost 2 minutes?

You know, I've seen it a million times. College students looking for a cause to get behind, and a way to protest "the man". In reality I think there is a lot for young people to be mad about, but when you act like a beligerant idiot, take cuts, and start shouting at guy who was invited to speak without letting him answer questions, you clearly are an idiot.

Yeah the police made a mistake - they needed to drag him out of sight quickly. The fact that they couldn't remove him quickly and without a bunch of drama requires some review on their part. But I'm sure the young republicans just love the attention. Great fuel for Sean Hannity and Rush Limbaugh.
