What was the strategy for the Czech race?

We were ready for a flag-to-flag race, so for this reason both riders opted for soft rain tires. The plan was push at the beginning of the race, then to change bikes. But the track never dried enough, so both riders had to ride in difficult circumstances.

Positive and negative points after the race?

The positive point is that Marc got a great podium and extended his championship lead, with Rossi now second overall, 53 points behind him. Also, even though Dani had a difficult race and scored only four points, he maintains fourth overall in the Championship standings. Another big positive is that another Honda won today: Cal Crutchlow and LCR Honda got their first victory in the MotoGP class!

Yesterday Marc scored his 63rd pole position across all three classes, so he is now equal with Lorenzo and Rossi as the best pole scorer in history, and he’s only 23-years-old, it’s just astonishing! Marc got pole here with a stratospheric lap, overtaking Rossi in the final esses to achieve a new track record.

The negative point of today was that Dani wasn’t able to find a good feeling on the wet that he usually has.

The view from pit wall during the race?

It was very difficult to understand if the track would be dry enough for the riders to come into the pits and change bikes, but the more the race went on, the more difficult it became to think that this might happen. We were very pleased to see how Marc was able to save his tires for the end, so he could get on the podium. Dani ran a good pace at the beginning, but when the tires start to drop he wasn’t able to brake hard and unfortunately he lost several positions.

How do you feel about your riders’ performance here at Brno and in Austria last Sunday?

For Marc it’s been very positive because he has increased his Championship lead at two very different circuits and in different circumstances. For Dani the last two races have been more difficult, but we are working hard to once again give him a good feeling on his RCV.

The inside story, apart from the official comments?

On Saturday evening we had a special paddock party together with all the other teams, called Hospitalities Reunited. It was something casual that all the guests, teams, friends and journalists really enjoyed.
