Kawasaki ZX-14 Frame recall

#1 Unread post by Rebel1977 »

Not sure if this is were this goes, but thought this was the best forum for it i guess.

A co-worker had the swingarm come off his ZX-14, when he took it in he found out there is a recall on it. I wont go into all the specifics of the inspection they have to do, but what it comes down to, is that if the frame is cracked, they cut the head off the frame and send it back to Kawasaki and they send out a new frame with your VIN, and your motor is put in the new bike with pretty much every thing else being new.

Just thought i would let you all know, since i hadnt seen it posted anywhere else.

My co-worker was lucky, he was only doing about 30 mph, and it dumped him into some nice soft grass, and he walked away without a scratch. He did say it was weird to see the bike slide past him on one side, and his swingarm and rear tire slide by on the other  .
