Duplicolor has a more durable version of paint and clearcoat that isn't Car and SUV. I believe that is the type you need. It may be a little hard to find. Search this site for some paint threads and you'll get plenty of good info.

Possibly enamel might be what you need as well.

Good luck.

EXACTLY! I figure that too tight can lead to problems- worn sprockets and even busted links (chain failure). I don't think having it slapping around is too good either: imagine one's chain jumping off the sprocket and its' landing between the sprocket and wheel leading to a catostrophic rear wheel l...

I just completely changed the color of my Katana from red to Metallic Black. Looks sharp I'll post pics later. I used duplicolor rattlecan laquer paint & clearcoat and I believe they have orange too. Wetsand and buff-voila. It was some work but not really all that bad. Paint & clearcoat (3 c...

I got my tires replaced- removed wheels myself. Had them mounted and balanced for $70 at the shop down the street, $10 over what i was quoted on the phone. I was too tired to argue. They said the my Maxxis promax balanced funny, and they had to keep adjust the seating & move the valve marker awa...

Chain Adjustment

I noticed some real slack in my chain (several inches) after I replaced my tires. I adjusted the tension so there was about an inch or maybe a little more of play (bottom part). Is this too tight?

This almost a year later, and I'm curious about mounting my own tires. Seems like I could do the rope thing, but what about balancing?

What is a reasonable rate for balancing and MUST it be done at a MC shop?

I've chucked the project due to its painful effect on my rear. I just don't have the facilities or time to do it right. I misjudged the scope of the project and my meager skills. Besides I think the bike looks good as it is. So, I pitched the monstrocity into the dumpster- It was beginning to weigh ...

We have sober clubs here. I've heard they needed to obtain some sort of approval from the Bandidos. We have the Gypsies too. Evidently they were/are hardcore bikers with a giant pickle riding a HD patch on their vests- I've seen it! I've never joined either type since I'm not a "joiner" bu...

So, if I understand your method right- you managed to finance your Buell under MSRP by a significant amount. The dealer (who probably underwrote the loan) hoped to make up his profit from the interest based on the term of the loan. By paying off the principal in 1/4 of the time you evade the bulk of...

You are faced with the classic dilemna- conflicting interests/wants and some money to burn. If you have some access to money for emergencies- ie student loans, grants or parents you might consider spending your cash. If not hold on to it because emergencies always happen and you will need the $$$. T...
