DJ encourages cagers to hit motorcyclists.....
HOLY CRAP!
Look at how fast this thread took off:
http://bayarearidersforum.com/forums/sh ... did=149060
It's about some asswipe DJs who encouraged cagers to hit motorcyclists who lane-split.
Read up on it and send in your complaint emails and letters to the radio station and the FCC......
Here is the audio file so you can listen for yourself to what was said on the air:

And here is a link to the realplayer codec so you don't actually need to install realplayer:

That thread got big real quick but respectively so. I would be real pissed if some DJ was encouraging people to open doors motorcyclists, let alone what they were doing was legal. He made it seem like the motorcyclist wouldn't get hurt if someone opened the door on him, which is should be obviously not true.

I'm a bit dissapointed by the apathy shown on this message forum. Only 3 replies? C'mon people.
Here is a copy of my letter to the media and the FCC.

Dear FCC,
There is an old saying, "With great power comes great responsibility."
On the morning on 12 January 2006, the radio station 105.3 in San Francisco had the morning disc jockeys make the following statements on the air regarding motorcyclists:
Woody: Nothing would make me happier than to watch somebody, and I actually seen this one time, somebody open a door and take you out as you're trying to squeeze through people who have been sitting in traffic for 45 minutes.
Tony: If it didn't rip my door off I'd probably do it.
Woody: Now I don't want to see anybody get hurt, honestly, but I mean you just get so mad so frustrated that you're like you know what I hope you... It's kind of like those guys that haul "O Ring" past you on the freeway... going like 160 mph on their crotch rocket, and I'm like, you know what, I hope you crash.
Raify: It's like, I look forward to seeing you up ahead...
Woody: Splattered
Raify: Splattered
Woody: Just for being an A-hole, right?
All three of them immaturely and ignorantly encouraged acts of violence upon fellow citizens. Making such threats and encouraging such acts are both immoral and illegal and could technically be considered an "incitement to riot" and imprison them for a year. According to California Penal Code Sections 404.6 Paragraphs A & B:
(a) Every person who with the intent to cause a riot does an act or engages in conduct that urges a riot, or urges others to commit acts of force or violence, or the burning or destroying of property, and at a time and place and under circumstances that produce a clear and present and immediate danger of acts of force or violence or the burning or destroying of property, is guilty of incitement to riot.
(b) Incitement to riot is punishable by a fine not exceeding one thousand dollars ($1,000), or by imprisonment in a county jail not exceeding one year, or by both that fine and imprisonment.
Clearly, the 3 disc jockeys statements qualify for Paragraph A - "Every person who ... urges others to commit acts of force or violence, or the ... destroying of property, and at a time and place and under circumstances that produce a clear and present and immediate danger of acts of force or violence or ... destroying of property, is guilty of incitement to riot."
If any driver of a motor vehicle were to assault a motorcyclist, due to the encouragement the 105.3 DJs were inciting in the public, I would implore that motorcyclist to bring criminal charges against the driver, Woody, Tony, Raify, and the 105.3 radio station responsible for putting those DJs on the air.
With great power comes great responsibility. As media figures, in a public forum, Woody, Tony and Raify clearly showed they do not possess the maturity, professionalism or responsibilty to wield the power of their positions as on-air-personalities. To protect fellow citizens from needless acts of violence, I think revoking their broadcasting licenses and ending their careers in radio is the only reasonable and safe course of action to protect the populous from their juvenile and ignorant messages.

I might be stepping into ridiculousness here, but I don't think what he said was that bad. I listened to the thing a few times.
It sounds like he didn't know it was legal. He wasn't encouraging people to do it, he even continued saying that he didn't wish harm on anyone.
Haven't you ever been pissed off by the way someone was driving and thought it would be satisfying if that person got in a non debilitating accident, or pulled for driving the way they do?
The best part of the radio broadcast is the BlondeStar commercial at the end. "BlondeStar, always on because you're always blonde"

So he's a road rager. Get his drivers permit pulled as well as his braodcasters license.Woody: Now I don't want to see anybody get hurt, honestly, but I mean you just get so mad so frustrated that you're like you know what I hope you... Wouldn't he have to act on his anger to be considered a road rager? I still believe that you can think bad things in this country freely. For instance, I also hate the guys who go blasting by me on the freeway at 120+ mph. The drivers around me that were previously curteous in giving me lots of room and giving me extra space to merge all the sudden close up and don't give me the time of day. I don't wish that he crashed but I do hope that those guys get pulled.Pongo wrote:So he's a road rager.
