Victory Motorcycles Makes Waves At International Motorcycle Show In Long Beach, CA
Unveiling of ‘Victory Vision™ 800’ Concept Bike Wows Press and Public At Prestigious Show

MEDINA, MN (December 12, 2005) – In a dramatic live unveiling before the motorcycle and mainstream media, Victory Motorcycles, a division of Polaris Industries Inc (NYSE/PSE: PII), revealed their Vision 800 concept motorcycle at this past weekend’s International Motorcycle Show in Long Beach, California. A fully automatic motorcycle that pushes beyond the current reality of American style and design, it provides a glimpse into one possible future segment of American motorcycles.

This bike has a sub-30-inch seat, a decent size engine mated to a CVT, and front storage (compare the Burgman-650 scooter under-seat storage). The new breed of super-scooter sells well in Europe but they have a stigma in the USA. An macho industrial design like the Vision-800 would sell well in a lot of demographics. Personally, that bulbous storage could be tamed down a bit. I would give up some storage to get a more "motorcycle" gas tank look.

I wonder what it would look like if you took off all that plastic.

RE: "I wonder what it would look like if you took off all that plastic."

I don't think it would look good as a total naked but it could easilly be redesigned as a two-wheel motorcycle version of the Polaris Revolver which does show more skin:

Polaris Revolver concept:

Personally, I think Polaris/Victory should have a whole line of punky, fun, and wild mid-size [600cc - 900cc] motorcycles with CVT. For example, base one loosely on their Revolver, one loosely on the Confederate Hellcat, and one loosely on the Sachs MadAss 500 concept [but with a serious engine]. Not saying to copy those other bikes; just make a line of different bike that are as punky.
