Okay, so we went out on Wednesday and all went well. We were probably out for half an hour, and I'm sure I annoyed every driver on the road due to my speed (or lack thereof...), but I was intent on not doing anything out of my comfort zone. I was really nervous for the ride, but didn't crash, or drop the bike or anything.

Next time might be a little longer, or with a few more curves, but I'm going to take my time. My guy was supportive, kind and patient (of course). There is definitely something to be said about getting back on the horse.

Thanks again for all your encouragement and suggestions.

Ya done good.
Don't worry about those other drivers
if they are not crowding your mirror.

I am still very new to riding and just dumped my bike for the first time two weeks ago, I was in full gear (except boots, which I now have), luckily I was mostly scraped and bruised (especially the ego). I "got back on the horse" just yesterday and was gripped by fear. My husband rode behind me around the neighborhood and that was comforting.
We made it back to the driveway and I just didn't like that I was so scared of it, so i jumped back on it and rode until a lot of the fear subsided on a long quiet back road we have close by.
If i said I wasn't still afraid of it, that would be a lie, but I am hoping the fear and panic ease over time the more I ride. The advice to practice in a parking lot sounds great, cause although I fell going straight when a car turned suddenly in front of me and i over reacted and mashed the front brake, I found it is the turns i stiffen up at, just like the first time i rode.

I am grateful to have found this site where there are women that understand and have advice for women. Thanks ladies :D

Hi Freebird, I have read a few of your posts on the forum and would like to ask you a question. When you sit on your bike, are your hips tilted well forward and do you stretch a little to reach the bars ?
