.....loose wheel! Actually the wheel sheered off during the WSB race at Donington yesterday. Unbelievable video and it could have been much, much worse.

That was nuts! Wonder if he noticed when
A. The rear wheel passed him.
B. His apex was a bit wider than the last lap.
C. His rear end suddenly dropped over 6 inches and he heard bodywork scraping!

Berger is very, very, very lucky he didn't get clocked by that BMW coming up behind him. Whoever that was had excellent reflexes not to hit him.

Yeah, that was Ayrton Badovini, who's a former Euro SS champ, who was a substitute rider for James Toseland for this race --- HARD ON THE BRAKES to avoid him.

Great races at Donington, and very lucky for the Supersonic Ducati team in very rare situation -- i know a guy who abraded off the top layer of skin on his forearm when the front wheel of his R1 collapsed while hard on the brakes coming down from around 170+ MPH into turn 1 at Race City Motorsports Park about 5 years ago.

He's had a few skin grafts but still needed to apply lotion to his arm every day because of the scar tissue and missing layer of breathable skin. That's a reminder no one wants on a daily basis. I may have a photo of the crashed bike and certainly many of it before and after. No time to search though. In his scenario he had crashed previous and they didnt inspect all the damage thoroughly, so next time out the thing just collapsed under braking. I cant recall if it was his very first lap back out or not, but not a good deal.
