Hmmm, makes me wonder if it's real or not.

I sent the link to mythbusters on twitter suggesting they try it out on their show to see if it is real or not.

An even better vid of this bike! Leno rides the bike with audio commentary - the audio as he is riding the bike! It is awesome.

Too bad the price on the ultimate fast and safest (for its type of bike) is so high. I wonder if the systems on it make it safe enough for an everyday commuter - regardless of weather except for slush/snow...

Really? I haven't seen US prices so far, but prices in the UK mags show it to be competitive, even cheaper than some of its more expensive competition, like the R1 for instance.

It isn't that bad... Just bad enough that I can't get it. :) If I can ride it in just about any road conditions - it could actually save me money with the whole commuting thing. I got to sit on one, but I had my wife and kids with me and the sit lasted about 10 seconds.

So, I can't tell if it is a good fit or not. The weight is the right amount. It is a decent size. I'd get kicked out of the house if I bought it with the Traction Control and ABS. I really like the on the fly changes to the engine/traction control mode.

According to a few Beemer guys I know, the S1000 fully loaded with everything is going for about 25K. The base one is going for about 17K.

Holy Schnikies! 25K for a bike that isn't a full dress tourer!

I'd do it anyway, though, if I had the cash.

17k might be competitive for a 1000 haha, considering the price gouging going on a lot lately. The local honda shop is trying to sell 1000RRs for 16k and 600 RRs for 12k.

Haha nice... Your local Honda shop is smoking something good in the back room!
With the current economy you're looking at MAYBE 12-13K OTD on a 1000 and 9-10K on a 600.
