Having a "rider" backrest turns a 300 mile per day bike into a 500 mile per day bike. It helps keep your back straight so there's less fatigue.Image

BTW, that's Steve McQueen's old biplane.

I have a backrest on my Road King Classic. Never thought I would want one. But I love it for long trips.

I got a driver's backrest for the same reason-back pain after longer rides. I must say that it has been one of the best investments I have made for the bike. Back pain is gone and it makes using the cruise pegs so much more enjoyable. I ordered mine from grasshopperltd.com for around $90. I would recommend them to anyone.

I didn't know he around that long ago, the plane looks like its from the 1920's or at least between the two world wars

For those that have aftermarket backrests...are they easy to install?

Now that's the kind of garage I need.

i bought a mustang seat set - with backrest - amazing! the whole stem/pad comes out if i need it to, but it gives me great support!

highly recommend it!
