First off let me apologize for the audacity of the question and yes I feel like a complete idiot for even having to ask this. With that said I could use some help.

I was recently cleaning my bike (03 Honda CBR 600rr) and when I went to check the oil I was having trouble seeing the level through the little window. Unfortunately there is no dipstick but when I opened the oil cap I couldn't see any oil inside.

My question is just if that is normal. I'm kinda freaking out right now thinking that I have been riding without any oil in the engine - I unfortunately used a shop for the last oil change and stupid me didn't think to check their work. My old bike had a dipstick so I was always able to check the level.

How did you check the oil level? You need to hold the bike upright. Not on the sidestand.

Yup what HYPERR said. Get the bike level, look in the sightglass on the right side of the engine, it should come up to between two lines on there.
And don't feel stupid, that's what we're here for...
