Hello all.

Just brought home my first bike.

1983 CB550 Nighthawk. Beautiful condition except for the throttle spring being gone. No return whatsoever.

I have a Clymer manual but it does not show any information on how to repair this.

Help! I want o get on the road but need to repair this first and have no idea where to start,.

Tx Much

First pull the tank. Then follow the cables back to the bank of carbs. One of the cables opens the throttle and the other one closes it. Make sure those two cables aren't pinched anywhere. Manually open the throttle at the carbs, then let go. Does it try to close, but get hung up on something?

Tx John,
I am going to try to work on her a bit today.
Sounds like a good place to start.

Update:
Last owner had run new cables around the front fork and it was pinching the cable. After rerunning the cable, a little lube and a little adjustment it work beautifully.

It's almost as much fum working on the bike as it is riding it, Almost.

Tx again for he help.
