RIDING FAST MOTORCYCLES
"Take this road and then you will get on**** rd. then you can open her up."
Hehehehehe
Im probably not the person to say "open her up" to.Hahaha

But thats what the guy at the Yamaha dealership told me.
Ya, I stopped and checked out an FJR.
Its a fricken ROCKET!!
I do have one beoitch about it though. The mirrors go out of adjustment at 110mph. Hey, the guy told me I could open her up
You all have been warned.
Well, I shut her down at 130.
What a bike. LOVED the electric shield. You get a nice face full of air just tooling around, but as you increase speed you can raise the shield and you wind up in a nice calm pocket. Beautiful.
Fairly comfortable. And did I say it was fast?
But now for the downside.
Apparently I dont like winding out a bike . I much prefer the lower RPMs of a v twin.

I also checked out a V Strom.
Very nice bike. I was surprised at the amount of wind protection you get. It was a very comfortable ride. I didnt wind it out like I did the FJR, but I did get it up to road speed. It did well. Its also very agile. I felt pretty comfortable in a secure way with it.
Im pretty sure Ill get one. I wish I could keep the big Kawi. Im sure going to miss it.

I gotta run Ill write more in a while
Later

I rode one of those last fall along with a 990 SuperDuke and a GT1000. All were very nice and I really loved the SuperDuke.

I sat on an Adventure 990 the other day. What do I think? 1) It's tall (and this is coming from a VStrom 1000 owner!), and 2) it's expensive. But hey, if that's what does it for you, go for it! Katooms are way cool. The AMA magazine had a write-up on the Adventure a couple of issues ago (February, I think?) You an AMA member?

Deserting the cruisers?

I may have to as a temporary measure as the VN was knocked over on the weekend (£1200plus damage). Driver owned up.

Loan bike due tomorrow. possible 1250 bandit.

Keep you informed -but miss the VN - hope you don't.

FTW
:hellfire:
Sometimes things dont go the way you want them to.
Its starting to look like I wont be gettiing a KTM for quite a long time. Apperently I owe too much on my 1600. Fack.
Oh well, maybe some day. On the up side, I might get to have 2 bikes. I might get a used KLR or even a V-Strom.
Im starting to think about getting a 650.
It will get mid 50s mpg plus be a little more predictable on dirt.
So, maybe not being able to get the KatooM is a blessing in disguise. Plus, still might be able to score a used enduro or Motard. :naughty: So it still might be all good.

Later.

Hey AZ, when are you wanting to sell your 1600? Just curious. DH was sniffing at a friends 1600 the end of the year we started riding that our friend was selling. When we get back to the States I know he's leaning to getting on a cruiser again. Anyway, just curious is all. Doesn't hurt to drop info.

PS DHs family is in Tucson, so you know we go to AZ :D

Politics: Re - moving to a police state

I agree. And it makes me -->

And for the love of things, you are in AZ, who is a model for us 'non-gold' states in regards to 2A. We all need to keep moving to be where yall are. Instead of this bologna spewed because it makes good clips and wins votes.

I would sell it now if somebody gave me what I owe.
And they are trying to whittle at us on the 2nd . But they havnt accomplished anything yet. Right now I guess there is an attempt to get numbered ammo.
The problem comes from the authoritative mentality the people have.

Yeah I read about the serialization of ammo push. That's absolutely ridiculous. Reminds me of here in Japan, although ammo is not serialized, records of who bought what and how much is kept on record. Essentially, JPNs method of prohibited handguns and the rest of their system is based on the control of the people. Which is exactly what Sheeple are pushing for here in the US with the myriad of "gun control laws". More govt in our business is not the way to go.

They all look like the 'barrel shroud' interview:

Guess more folks need to watch this:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sfKADcfE ... re=related

So does that mean reloaded ammo will be outlawed or should I invest in a press now?
