Hey all,

I found this site advertising an inline brake modulator that supposedly will prevent lock up by acting "like a shock absorber that allows the brake pads to float and/or drag over the rotors natural high and low spots."

I'm not normally inclined to trust products that are described as "revolutionary" or "an incredible invention" preferring to judge them based on solid reviews by reputable sources but there don't seem to be any of those...

Has anyone heard of these things? Do they work?

I would avoid these things like the plague. You should know how to modulate your brakes to avoid locking the wheels without any kind of (questionable) mechanical device in the system.

One thing to note - air expands when it is heated, so as you use your brakes it's going to expand and potentially increase the pressure in your braking system.

I would also expect that having that 'shock absorber' in your brake system is going to leave you with a 'mushy' feeling in your brake lever - ever gotten air in the brake lines on your car?

No doubt. I'd prefer to trust my (limited) ability over something of such gray origins and questionable benefit!
