I don't know that I would call my boots "racing" boots, but they're motorcycle specific boots.

Ditto what Veda said. You need a category for plain regular motorcycle boots.

there. I've edited the poll to include two additional types of footwear.

I used to wear surplus Military Combat Boots, but I've since switched to a pair of Sidi Canyon Dual Sport Motorcycle Boots.

I wear a pair of these to work and anytime I ride. Nice boots (although they are almost too low to be called boots)

I checked none because there is no Equestrian (Cavalry,English Fox Hunting, Dressage, RCMP, or Cowboy)style footwear.

Most MC footwear (except MX boots) seems to stop short of any protection for the shins. May not seem a big deal to most, but ask most BMW riders (R bikes) how many scrapes they have on shins from cyls. just above top of most boots.

What I would really like is a pair of 60s style knee high MX boots. They were black or brown only. Not the multi coloured ones of today. They were made of leather, and had no plastic. They usually came with Vibram waffle soles. They did not have the manufactures name posted all over them. Last time I saw a new pair for sale was in the late 70s. (there are used ones on Ebay.) Aerostich Combat Touring Boots are the closest still made, but do not come in narrow width, and pricey.

I wear steeltoe boots I picked up at walmart for 30$ when I'm out riding. And just my sneakers if I'm going to work, which prob isn't very safe. But I'm working on getting these http://image.bizrate.com/resize?sq=160& ... &mid=91091
Its a race car style boot, but its pretty and matches my bike. :)

I went the Doc Marten route too. I didn't want to walk around at work looking "bikery", and I didn't want to bring an extra pair of shoes to change into.

Way back in the days when I started riding, I wore the engineer style boot. I usually looked for the tall shank style that went nearly to the knees. That style boot is not nearly as common but they are still around. These days I generally wear a 10" shank work boot or military style boot. When i ride to work I am wearing my hiking boots which aren't quite as protective but it's what I wear to work for comfort.
