Why is it that there has been two recalls on my ride yet I have never been notified of these recalls?
Anyone else fall into this?

I had a recall notice. I ignored it because I wasn't using the back seat. They sent me another letter reminding me to get it fixed.

Did you buy your bike new?

Sure did. Sent the dealer an email last night. Haven't heard fom him yet. If I don't it's time to pay him a visit.

It's the long weekend. You may not hear anything for a few days. You may want to send your message to Yamaha USA or wherever the dealers buy their stock from.
The recall notices ususally come from the head office. I know mine did.

Happy Easter.

I would if they had an email address. They have everyting else on their site except a "contact us" tag.

Just called the 800 number and YES they are closed. I'll try on Monday.

I had a recall notice on my V-Star too, but it was just the pillion seat bolt, I fixed it myself. If you bought the bike new, the dealer will have your records in the computor and if and when your bike gets back to the dealer, they are supposed to check for any recall notices that have not been satisfied. Likewise if you were to trade the bike in for another bike at a Yamaha dealer, they should satisfy the recall before it hits the streets with a new owner. Don't know for sure as that ever happens, it depends a lot on how good the dealer is. Some recalls are too dangerous to ignore.
