Having mentioned in another thread my 3000+ km trip, I was wondering what others have done/are doing with their bikes?

My/our (edit: Her/our) trip is well documented in blues2cruise's blog, so no need to go into it further here.

This sping/summer, we're planning a bit more ambitious trip, From here to there and back again, approx 16,000+ kms... Below is one of several tentative routes. (If the last trip is any gauge, our firmest route will be changed several times during the ride...)

Nothing real big yet. Going to gatlinburg in may. A friend and I are still kicking around the idea of going to newfoundland in a few years. That will be one hell of a ride on the Rebel.

I planning to make a ride down to NC this August for Super Magna Meet. It's only a couple hours away and nothing as grand as your trip. If you're in the Norther Virginia Area, let me know and we'll meet up.

dr_bar. When you're coming through from Thunder Bay to Kenora, I'd highly recommend going south of the trans-canada highway, and cut through Atikokan, Fort Francis and Sioux narrows. That other route is rather monotonous. It will add about one and a half hours but well worth it.

Looks like a blast.

Gas up at Atikokan. Last time I was through there, there weren't any other filling stations (open) 'till Fort Francis. Just made it. Whew!:D

I'm thinking either Colorado or Oregon, but your map brings up a question: What if I brought the "Honda Tour Book" north and you carried it across Canada? You could just pick it up on your way through Calgary and carry it across the country...
This is only if my tour south at the end of June lines up with all of the other legs of the run.....
And how do you guys mark up the maps that you post up????
