Wheel Colour

#1 Unread post by Henriettaah »

Greetings all, long time no see! :D

I'm getting my wheels powder coated to match my new fairing which is shown here ---> Image

Question is, what colour to get them done?

I first thought I wanted dayglo yellow kinda colour to match the yellow on the fairing ; but then I thought about keeping the wheels clean and chain oil splatter etc

So then I thought black maybe with some kind of special finish, with yellow rim tape on - but someone said that black wheels will make them look smaller :? White has been suggested but I'm not into that at all

Any suggestions or thoughts please on what might be the best looking colour to do the wheels? :D

Probably going to sound absurd or wierd to ya, but I can kinda see the fairing with matching green wheels looking good. The same green as in the fairing.

Hmmm kwaka green... not sure, as it throws up the same spick and span cleaning issues as the yellow

Keep the opinions coming though folks as if yellow/greens seem to be the best choice I'll just have to bite the bullet and wash 'em every darn ride

Yep true, same sort of problems.

But you know what I noticed with Kawi Green? On my bike it dosn't really seem to show dirt all that much... and hey the green colored bugs blend in well too

On a rarity I will go with style over substance and say yellow to match the fairing...

On the sportsbikes I've seen done like that it seems to be worth the effort, even when they are dirty.

I;m rather partial to black myself. But I don't think you'd be going wrong with yellow.

I wish I could get clear wheels...
Of course I'm generalizing from a single example here, but everyone does that. At least I do.

I'd say a nice dark blue or black, those would look nice with your plastics... Good luck!

Great examples, Verm!! I agree. If you're wanting a bit of color, go with a red or yellow stripe around the tire. My bike has black rims, and I absolutely love the low level of cleaning required. Even at their dirtiest, you hardly even notice.

By the way - cool fairings, young lady!! Rock on...

Cheers,
