If I like my Super Glide so much, why am I thinking of trading it in for a Wide Glide or a Softail Standard??!! Must be a friggin' midlife crisis or something... :banghead2:

Aw, "crumb". So it IS a disease, then? Great. My wallet is gonna feel the pain.

Talked to the salesguy today while waiting for my sweetie's Softail Deluxe to be serviced. He has an '05 Road King Custom FI coming in on trade within the next two weeks and Harley finances used bikes, so... :? I sat on an '05 FXST Standard they just got in on trade a few days ago, but it just didn't fit me. The pegs were too close for my liking and the seat just didn't feel right.

I'll have to take a RK Custom and a Dyna Wide Glide one out on the demo ride coming up on 4 Sept and see what happens from there.

No new bike for me - I had the dealer crunch some numbers on that '05 Road King as well as an '07 Wide Glide... suffice it to say that the low trade-in value of my '06 Super Glide has made it a losing proposition at best.

But the bright side is that I still have one fine lookin' FXDI to ride and it has another 4 years of warranty left on it. :righton:

I'm still going to the demo ride on Monday, though. :D

I have had 2 Softails & I own 1 Roadking.

The Roadking is by far the best 'all round' Harley. It does everything.

Gotta love that Air Suspension as well!

Softails do not lean that well in corners.

I tend to disagree with your statement that softtails don't lean very well. I've scraped the pegs on my FXSTC a few times and it leaned really well.

Sure they 'Lean' but compared to a Roadking....well....you guess which one handles the best. :)

Well, I guess I should clarify my statement.

My '94 FXSTC leaned more than MY Road King. Probably because my RK has been lowered 2 1/2", thereby reducing the clearance, thereby reducing the amount of lean.
