hi all !!!

I found it really surprising that with a population of over a billion, and millions of bikes zipping and zooming on the roads of India there is not a single soul in this forum from the country !!

I thought it was time for a girl to take the initiative ... so here i am !! I am simply crazy about all driving machines and hope to make new frens here and gain knowledge from them !!

Welcome Tanu!

:welcome: to the communtiy! :D

Good for you in taking the initiative and representing motorcycling India! So far this month, 48,856 Indians have been to the community so they are out there. :D

The Local community forums (like this one) is a great place to talk local events, trips, rides, news and more. A lot of people use Total Motorcycle Talk: http://www.totalmotorcycle.com/BBS/viewforum.php?f=2 to chat and have fun talking about bikes.

Again, welcome to the community and spread the word in India to get those great guys and gals to come on and say Hi.

Ah, now I feel like a good Indian curry meal with Nann and a lager. Yummy! :D

Mike.

Much appreciated, thanks for telling all your friends about Total Motorcycle, word of mouth is a very high compliment. :D

I try to make curry from scratch here and I think I've done pretty well. We used to have an Indian buffet (Le Curry) here in Calgary that was amazingly good and the owner was really friendly to us. Unfortunately it closed and I was determined to learn how to many a good curry dish. :D

Maybe if you have time you could give me a receipe to try out for a Chicken curry?

Here is what I use for a simple homestyle curry sauce:

1/4 cup oil
2 teaspoons of mustard seeds
2 large onions, very finely chopped
2 cloves garlic (or garlic power), chopped
1/4 in square piece of fresh ginger (or ginger power), chopped
1 teaspoon coriander powder
1 teaspoon turmeric powder
1 teaspoon cumin powder
1 teaspoon garam masala powder
1 teaspoon cayenne pepper
1/2 teaspoon of generic "curry power" (as it makes the curry taste more like "canadian curry"
1 large can of diced/chopped tomatoes
salt

Heat the oil in a heavy pan. Add the onion and saute over a medium heat for about 20-25 mins or until deep brown (dont burn them or start over). Add the coriander powder and stir for a further full minute. Then add the turmeric, cumin, garam masala and cayenne pepper and saute for 1 min. Add 1 cup water and cook for 10 mins. Put in the tomatoes, stir well and cook for a further 5 minutes.

Curry sauce is ready. :D

Mike
