In Australia Honda imports an electric start XR250L from Japan. I live in the US and ride a 2002 - XR250R. I would love to put electric start on my bike. I can't get the parts from my local Honda dealers. Does anybody know if the electric start parts from the AU XR250L would work on my US XR250R? Are the motors similar? What would be a good Austrailian Honda dealer to contact and what would be their Web site or phone number.

It would depend alot on if the engine cases on your bike are the same as an XR-250L or not. If the mounting bosses, ect, are cast into your cases, the just filling them up with the nessesary parts should be easy enough. Not cheap though.....

I am assuming that the XR250R in AU is the same as mine in the US. I was hoping that someone was familiar with both engines and bikes. Do you know of a good Honda dealer that I could contact with this question?
