I wear prescription sunglasses during the daylight and glasses with OTG goggles when I'll be riding in darkness.

If you decide to go the prescription lens route I'd recommend a couple of things: 1) make sure you get the kind that handles impact. I recently got whacked by a bird (helmet & glasses simultaneously). Luckily the glasses held up without the lens popping out. 2) it is kind of a pain in the a$$ to have to switch between sunglasses and regular glasses. I'm used to it but I'd still rather not have to do it.

I used to wear contacts. I don't believe you'll run into any more significant issues with them than non-riders do on a regular basis. If you get some road grit, keep your bike upright, pull over, wash it out, and be on your way!

Guchi?

I have to get underground and check those guys out. I always did get a different vibe from them in the Dry.

I only run into the underground guys in the change room, and then only briefly. They tend to be showering and nekkid, and I ain't all that comfortable having a long discussion with a guy who won't put his dam clothes on, lol.

And I ain't a mill mutant yet. I'm a smelter rat for 4-5 years yet..... Until they close it down and move us all into the mill. That's the rumor anyway.

UPDATE........BREAKING NEWS......I CAN SEE

Into 4th day (finally) of contact lense trial. It's going pretty well so far & am getting a little more confident in putting in/taking out!

Haven't ridden with them yet buthad to drive late evening on the first day & it was so much better!

Have had a few headaches tho (history of migraines). Do any of you guys think that is my eyes adjusting or just coincidence?

Back on nights Monday so will be interesting how/if air conditioning affects my eyes as skin gets dry normally.

Scary looking in the mirror now

Personally, noticed no real changes in my migraine patterns when switching from glasses to contacts. Maybe slightly less with the contacts due to less eye strain, but too close to call for sure.

As for air conditioning, it doesn't bother my eyes, and I lived in a very dry environment until very recently. If I do feel my eyes getting dry, I just blink more often, not very hard to do, but you do have to think about it and deliberately do it. It only happens to me when it gets really cold (-25-30 C) and the humidity drops to single digits.

Once your used to them, I think you will love them. Putting on a fullface helmet and not having to your shove specs in there in just the right way so it don't cause distortions, and finding a place to set them down while you do it seems like a little thing I suppose. But I still get a little tickle out of every time I do it, even 10 years after the switch.

Enjoy them.

Agreed. I only have issues with them drying out a bit during allergy season. But that's only because I rub the ole eyes a lot then untill I realize what's happening and get the meds out. Lol. One other thing I love about lenses over glasses is no fogging up!

I really should look into laser surgery. Contacts are nice, but nothing at all would be better.

Glad to report that my first proper bike trip (we are away for a week - see Mog Blog), with contact leses is a success, :D

The low wintry light + some rain would have been really difficult to cope with had I not been wearing lenses.

Have had no problem with grit or anything else that I was worried about.

Thanks for all advice & maybe post will help someone else too :D
