Just wondering what type of helmet most of you wear. (Especially since many people feel that anything less than a full-face is just asking for disaster.)

But there is also the issue of personal freedom, which is a major factor in the philosiphy of motorcycling.

discuss...

I just began my venture into riding, but I can say that I don't think I'll ever wear anything less than a Full Face.. for obvious reasons.... I find them to be just as comfortable and the protection factor is invaluable.

I love my fullface. I have an Icon, fits wonderful, keeps me relatively cool, and relatively non-braindead. (hopefully no more than I already am anyway)

Full Face, and nothing less than that every single ride. A friend of mine is alive becuase he wears a full face (read the thread "By the grace of his riding gear my friend is alive").

I wear a fullface all the time, street or dirt.

This is meant as a generality so nobody get all offended and stuff....

I don't really give a fiddler's F**k what somebody else wears.

I'd vote you can wear what you want. I'd hope and encourage you to wear a fullface all the time.

Of course, this poll isn't to force others to wear what you think is right, or to make judgement on what others wear... Basically, I'd like to know what everybody uses and why.

Also, there are different laws regarding helmets in different states and people take advantage of that, which is cool if that's their thing...

I know a guy who rarely wears a helmet and travels alot on his Harley Fatboy in different states... says he's gotten over 20 tickets in 5 years... don't know if he's full of it or not, but I saw him a few weeks ago here in California (helmet laws are strictly enforced here) and he was wearing nothing on his head but sunglasses and a bandana aroung his neck

hey, whatever floats your boat.

I have always worn a full face helmet on my roadbike and always will. I ride all year round, so it is good to have in the colder weather and good ventilation keeps me cool in the summer.
I wear a standard issue Nolan open face helmet at work, but 90% of my riding is on footpaths at walking speed, plus it gives me an unrestricted view into my front mail bag.

Full face all the time, I value my stunning good looks too much, besides I also value my wifes stunning good looks and have to set a good example. It was bad enough convincing her to get proper boots(had to show her ugly pics)
