Wow, that's a new one for me...
We don't have the cameras up here so, no worries. But, it's a first to hear that something that was put in to help prevent accidents is now causing them, what next, huh?
Sorry to "hijack" the thread....
Bluebabe,
It's a psychological thing. The cameras are very unpopular here, and drivers try to work around them any way they can. Near to my home a camera was recently destroyed by a driver who just rammed into it in his car. The guy was caught, but he didn't seem to care, just lost it I guess.
Another thing that happens is that drivers spend their time with their eyes fixed on the speedo, or on their GPS camera detector, and this has affected road safety. I have a GPS in my own car, and I do find that I keep an eye on it while driving in built up areas. The GPS gives an exact speedo readout, more accurate than the car speedo.
Our roads are very busy. I'm sticking to the country lanes on my bike.
