If they built a motorcycle that was perfect in all aspects for all riders, then you would not see so many manufacturers and models being presented to the public.

Yes, you will get heat from the engine while riding slowly or tied up in traffic. It is something that all riders expect when they have an air cooled motorcycle. But you can and will still get a certain amount of heat, even off of a liquid cooled model. Even when I had my Honda Gold Wing, I used to complain about all of he dead air behind the windshield and fairing. I used to complain about the heat of the day behind the fairing and windshield, the heat from the motor and the heat off of the road. I usually only rode my Wing in the springtime or fall, on the cooler days.

I have not ridden my V-Star 950 that much to date. But the time that I have, it has not shown me any noticeably high heat conditions, whether riding slowly in traffic or on the road, from any other air cooled motorcycle. But, keep in mind that I have also owned Harleys and other early model foreign makes of bikes that were air cooled, thus I knew what to expect.

The motor in the V-Star 950 is designed by the engineers to be air cooled.
Thus about the only thing you can do to cool the engine, is to ride faster or move to a cooler hemisphere.

Have been to the MUSTANG dealer/exhibit three times this week, while AMERICADE has been going on.

Finally bit the bullet and ordered a new MUSTANG seat with backrest for my V-Star 950. Should be here next week as they were sold out at their exhibit here at Lake George.

Now, I can not wait for AMERICADE to be over with, so the quiet countryside can get back to normal. I mean a whole week of bikers. REALLY !!! LOL Last day is today, then I can get back to riding my Yam on our quiet country roads.
